ah well... but I dunno if it's so much pushing. I mean, it's not like picked kids off the street and told them perform or their family dies

I think if they make a forum where children can perform to their heart's desire, it's up to them and their parents if they want to subject their children to all that, and the consequences that come with being a star, maybe for the rest of their life... chances are though that after the show they'll die out, unless stardom really is their calling... <shrug>

Yes, but the mere concept that a grown adult forcing his/her 5 year old into hours of practice and rehearsal sounds off (not to mention encouraging vanity and possible eating orders).... does it not?

Plus it's the family that wants fame for the child usually, not vice versa... kids want to just be kids

But I agree that the show will die out.

definitely agreed... it's not just what the family decides, which is their right, but it's about the perception for the public. I dunno, I guess times have changed... when kids loved performing in the past (black and white days) from I've seen it seemed to be good and clean... now it's all about looks and fashion and style. How many kids will see the show and adore their fan and want to be like them...

is it not enough that we have 10-3 year old girls walking around wearing miniskirts, high heels and makeup these days?

Please... I'm 22 and have not been out in ages... it's gotten to the point that I'd rather stay in, watch TV and go on this site! Pretty pathetic huh?

But back to children. A show like this should never have received a stamp of approval. I think tv porducers these days are smoking crack.

so are you a guy or a girl? I guess perception could change based on your gender too... I'm just pretty indifferent to the show. It still comes down to the parents watching over their kids, what they watch on tv, and loving them, bringing them up well-rounded, hopefully so they won't get to the point of trying or wanting to imitate their 'idols'... <shrug> if the show's on, I'll prolly watch it... ah well
