It was just way too busy, and I thought the whole idea was making the little girls room into something more "teen"???

With all the painting and monkey on the wall it was little kiddish.... I didnt think that the dad looked all that happy with it.

I didn't actually see the show, just the reveal, but it looks like the girl would outgrow that room very quickly.

It's very rare for me to like anything Frank does.
I thought this room was just appalling though.

I think this is yet another example of a designer's false "idea" of what childhood means today, than what it really means. It's kind of similar to when designers try to do an "ethnic" room without having any real clue about that particular culture -- so they end up with design stereotypes.

Today's nine year old girls are much more like 13 year old girls from Frank's era. They're into current music and chatting with friends and some are even into B O Y S. I think I remember someone saying that this girl was into sports.

Instead of giving her a space to meet her needs, we get Frank's idea of childhood ... multiple colors, squiggles, Barbies and crayons. Then Ty has to add in the monkey from hell. (would have been cool for a 7 year old boy, but not for this girl).

Horrible, horrible room. What cracked me up was the mom looks at the monkey desk and says, "Oh look ... you have a bar!" Weird!

This is horrible. I would hat this room for any age. He should have to live in it! That would be just punishment for subjecting others to this lunacy.

    You're absolutely right Eden.

I wouldn't expect to get paid if I designed a room like this for a pre-teen.
