Re: Top Model Shows Outside the U.S.

Awesome the clearer images are up and it's time for my ranking and critique.

Flying:
1.Alice-I love love this shoot she looks amazing.
2.Paloma-The one thing I don't like about this shot is her face she looks bored but everything else is quite good.
3.Anika-Not my favorite of her, her face looks very weird in this shot but overall it's still a good shot of her.
4.Jordan-Just like what other people said her face looks wierd. I like her body she looks very nimble.
5.Steph-Just plain bad. The hand on the head looks wierd if she would have gone with it and not mess with her hair it would have looked better than this.

Box:
1.Jordan-I really love this shot of Jordan it's great and her face looks nice. I agree I don't like that they turned it.
2.Anika-One of my favorites of Anika. I love the body posture it's amazing but their really isn't that much in the face.
3.Alice-Another great shot by Alice but a little weaker than the others. Her face looks a little off to me but still it's a great shot.
4.Steph-I actually like it but still not that good- She looks like a big woman in a tiny box and really isn't doing much with body or face.
5.Paloma-Not her best at all. The pose is boring and she looks quite old in the face. By far her weakest shot.

Overall these photoshoots were great and much much better the the mother and daughter shoot.

Love her or hate her, Paloma was one undoubtedly the star attraction of this year's series of Australia's Next Top Model.

Had you modelled before going on the show?
I was modelling locally in Newcastle. I'd done Newcastle parades and hair shows and photo shoots. I was actually with a Newcastle-based agency and they told me to go try out for it.

Describe how you felt when you were eliminated?
I felt great! The whole reason I went onto the show in the first place was for the experience. I didn't actually want to win it because I'd had an offer to sign with Elite and that's what I wanted to do. But the longer I was there I did want to win it. But towards the end of it I'd been there for two months and only had two weeks left. I really didn't care anymore. I just wanted to go home.

After being eliminated you said it was because you're too good for the competition.
I don't remember saying that. On the last day I just remember really, really wanting to leave and they kept hassling me to do interviews before they'd let me leave so I just sort of said anything they wanted me to say just so I could go.

You said Alice is going to win based on her looks so therefore the competition wasn't real to begin with. Do you still agree with this?
Yeah, that's pretty much what I think. As soon as we went in everybody on the show thought Alice would win just because she looks like a model. But they'd told us they're looking for variety. I thought it was unfair because if Alice wasn't attractive she wouldn't be there in the first place because she doesn't have personality. And last week when I was in the bottom two the judges said it's because I'm good at everything so I don't have one strong point, which I think is stupid.

You seemed to be at the centre of a lot of conflict with the other girls. What is your take on all of this?
I think in the house everybody was completely different to what they're actually like on camera. Everybody doesn't want to be seen really badly to everybody else on the outside so they don't say as much as they should on camera to what they really they really do to the rest of us. I'm the only one that didn't really care. So that's how most of the time I look like a bitch — coz I'm honest.

How did you feel when your anxiety attacks saw you labelled as a drama queen?
I get angry at the fact they just say that. Someone who doesn't have depression can never know what its like for someone who does. I have friends who have it as well and they're exactly the same as me. Mine is hereditary, my family has it as well. I've got nothing at all in my life to be upset about but some days I'm like that and I can't really help it. Its like trying to explain to a male what its like to give birth. I would never play something like mental illness to my advantage.

How much of what the audience sees on TV is real?
Basically nothing of it. They have to fit a whole weeks worth of stuff into an hour so most of the fights you see are five seconds of what actually goes into it. With that whole Cassandra thing they'd say, 'Stupid Paloma's getting angry about nothing,' but they actually had no idea what had actually happened. She brought her boyfriend into the house and had sex. Just stuff like that. If outside people knew exactly what was going on television wouldn't be so entertaining.

Did you really think one of the photo shoots was rigged?
The thing that really annoyed me about that is they made out like I pretended I didn't say that, which is completely untrue. They cut heaps of the scenes out where I'm actually explaining myself. What happened was I was I was talking to Steph and some crew members told us that the challenge was sort of between us. But then Jordan won. We didn't care that Jordan won but if she was going to win why did they tell us that? I personally think they'd just tell us that just to make conflict.

What was it about Cassandra that you didn't really like?
I just really don't like her altogether. There's nothing about her I liked. I didn't really think she was that attractive, but if she was a really nice person it would be completely different — because if people who aren't attractive but who have nice personalities are more appealing. But she was just a completely horrible person. It was the way she spoke, the way she acted and the things she said. It was completely unnecessary some of the things she did.

Did she really bring her boyfriend into the house to have sex?
Yes she did. She wouldn't have [told you] because she wouldn't have wanted anyone to know, which is really, really frustrating because no one would say anything because everyone's meant to be tight lipped so no one gets in trouble. That's why she got eliminated.

Can you elaborate on the comments you made in episode 8 about your body?
I've never really liked my body and I don't really think that I'm attractive and I don't really have a good body, which is funny coz I'm in an industry that cares about what you look like. I know people say the industry cuts you down and makes you feel bad about yourself but for me most of the time it makes me feel good coz people tell me things I don't think is true, like I'm attractive and have great body, but I never think that.

Do you have any regrets?
Not really. I'd rather regret things I did rather than what I didn't do. I just don't like the way they've made me to be.

Will you pursue modelling?
Yes hopefully I'll sign up with Elite and go from there. They really wanted me before I'd gone into the house and they have agencies in 32 different countries around the world. I'm interested in catwalk, but I'd also like to be a presenter on MTV or Channel V because I have a big personality.

When WHO spoke to Cassandra following her elimination in week two, the wannabe model denied bringing her boyfriend into the model house. However she did admit to sneaking out "three or four times" to " talk to him". She also made a point of saying, "I didn't go clubbing like the girls said!" Who's telling the truth? You be the judge!

Danica
Australia's Next Top Model contestant Danica
Despite delivering her best photo yet, Danica's shot wasn't good enough to save her from elimination.

Did you go into the competition thinking you had a good chance of winning?
I went in there totally believing I had a chance. Because if I didn't think that I could do it then there wouldn't be any point of actually going in there. Of course you judged the other girls when we first met because they were my competition. But I don't think I was intimidated because it was hard to feel anything but excitement that day! I was feeling confident in myself and I really believe that's what you need to make it.

You were crushed when you didn't win the catwalk challenge. Why were you so upset?
I love the idea of being a catwalk model. That's what I aim to become. My walk became known during the show, it was acknowledged by the judges so I'd grown a lot of confidence in that area. So when it came to catwalk week obviously I was very excited because it was my week to shine. So when I didn't win the challenge I was annoyed at myself because it was the one thing I really wanted. There was nothing against Alice whatsoever. I was fine after that.

How did you feel when your weight became a hot topic?
Before I went onto the show I was working out all the time, and I mean all the time. But when we were there we had no gym, we never knew when we were eating next and we were introduced to all this totally unforgiving food! It was annoying how they tried to talk so much about what we needed to be doing as models, but then we only went to the gym twice throughout the whole time I was there! It took four weeks to get an exercise bike inside the house and we had to ask for that! Still, I wasn't as good with my food as I should've been. I do regret it now because I know it came up as issue, but I don't think that's why I was eliminated.

Then why did you cry when Charlotte brought up your weight during elimination?
Basically because I went in there saying, 'I've been given this opportunity, the last thing I want is for my weight to become an issue'. So when you're eliminated for something like that, that you're eliminated not on how well you're going, that's what really annoyed me. When she was talking I was thinking, 'Oh no, this is what it's going to come down to'. That's what totally killed me. I just felt terrible about that.

What was your impression of the judges?
Jodhi was great. She seemed to have a real connection with all the girls. She took on a motherly kind of role. She was in charge of us all but in a good way. Even when the cameras were on, she'd take us over to the side and see how we were handing things. On camera she's got such a high position but not when she talks to you one on one and it was comforting. I don't think that I was one of Charlotte's favourites from her criticism and the episodes I've seen. She wasn't one of my supporters! Alex Perry was great. He was really down to earth and I absolutely adore his designs. He was fantastic, and an important industry type to know.

Who do you think will become Australia's Next Top Model?
I'm hoping Alice wins. I think she's just a really sweet natured person. Unfortunately she comes across as a bit of a whiny person, which is terrible because she's not! When people first see her they can tell she's a model. She's really genuine and I think she deserves to win it. She's got a great look and I think she can do anything really.

Was modelling what you expected it to be?
It is exactly what I expected it to be. But better. You've really got to appreciate the atmosphere of it as well. When we do shows and things like that it's about the adrenalin, and if you're not the sort of person who likes that whole performance adrenalin then you'll hate modelling. That's what I love. It's never as good when you think about it until it actually happens. I'll definitely pursue modelling. I hope to get into the Sydney market and go overseas to start doing it seriously.
