You could see that it was because Vinnie claimed that Angie was haveing a heart attack is what set both Dr. Ian and Harvey off. First Dr. Ian is a doctor and would not do anything to harm a patient. Second Dr. Ian did consult with Angie's cardiologist and her doctor wants her to exercise and lose weight. Harvey is in the same boat. He is a personal trainer. He puts together an exercise plan that will help accomplish Angie's goals. He would never put himself in a position to cause a person to have a heart attack. Both men were defending themselves and their professional reputations. I think Ian was angry cause Vinnie was making erroneous statements and impuning his professional reputation.

Oh Angie.. Angie, Angie.... when will those clouds all disappear?

So first of all, thanks Bearcata for keeping this thread going, I appreciate your comments and mini recaps immensely, as my tivo isn't hooked up and I have missed most of this season.

Angie is the only one I want to focus on because she's the scariest. Scariest in that with her health + denials + insanity she's a timebomb. I just hate it when people say things like "I'd like to work out but my career..." when someone needs to tell that person "if you don't take time of for your health, you might not have a LIFE. How important can your career be when you're dead?"

I think Ellen had it right, I think Angie believed she would lose weight just by showing up, or that just by showing up it would COUNT as doing something to improve her health, so that's all she's committed to doing: LOOKING as though she's improving. Let's ignore the fact that she's hurting her teammates, that is the least important thing considering her health, but my god woman, cut the crap! You are not doing what you're supposed to be doing, one exercise session does not allow you to say repeatedly that you worked out over a 2 week period. If she couldn't go longer than 5 minutes on the treadmill, she is not using it. Period. there is no way she's taking on half hour sessions alone, and then unable to go longer than 5 minutes in her doc's office. The pastrami sandwich PLUS cake indicates that she simply isn't following her diet at all. I mean, I would think if someone were cheating on their diet they'd have one of the other, not both as if they hadn't a health care in the world.

I think she's crazy. No diabetes medication, no working out, + crap food. and it's everyone else's fault. She's preaching to a bunch of celebrities with similar schedueles about how busy she is, and its ridiculous. i think all she wants is to be famous, and to do that she needs to be able to sing, and she's trying to placate her handlers by pretending to lose weight so that she can make records. Health and children be damned.

If she didn't make excuse after excuse after stupid excuse I might sympathize with her low self esteem, evidenced by her unwillingness to put her health first, but seeing as how unpleasant and short sighted she is, and how she refuses to take responsibility for her own misdeeds, I'm simply disgusted.

Angie.... you're beautiful.. but ain't it time we said goodbye?

9/10/06 - episode 5 - comments - spoilers

Just a few words to catch everyone up to speed. At the last Fit Camp which was on Day 42 Carnie and Angie switched teams. Angie had a very hard time doing a 2 mile hike and had to be given oxygen. Her teammates were split about their feelings. Initially, Ted and Tina were pissed off at her, Vinnie was concerned she was having a heart attack. The next day (Day 43) at the weightin Angie threatened to quit, Vinnie was upset on Angie's behalf and why he needed to lose so much and why he hadn't, Angie and Vinnie were attacking the panel and everyone blew up. Dr. Ian said to clean up any matter of Angie's health the show would make sure she would have a stress test. Now on today's show Angie was last and all this came at the end of the show but so the sake of linear time I will comment on it here at this point.

Day 45 Dr. Ian accompanied Angie to a stress test, during the taking of her medical history she revealed that she recently started smoking again (due to stress). She had not taken her diabetes meds for 2 weeks, the doctor noted that she could have gone into a coma and died, and she had not been taking her blood pressure medication and her blood pressure was too high to take the stress test at this time. 2 days later, Day 47 Angie took the stress test and only lasted 5 minutes on the treadmill, just walking. Still the cardiologist cleared her for the Celebrity Fit Club Challenges and cleared her to work out vigorously.

I am also noting Nick's and Erika's weight loss for the Meltdown because we never got a chance to hear it.

Nick lost 3lbs and went from 166 to 163.

Erika lost 3lbs and went from 143 to 140.

Episode 5:

The episode starts of watching the Blue Team at the spa enjoying their reward for winning the Fit Challenge.

The Red Team also had some healing to do and were taken to a Native American ritual to renew their spirits. Each person was given a choker made my a Dokota medicine man. Gary Busey was the guest and gave one of his unique half understanderble speeches. Tina was overwhelmed because Gary reminded her so much of her father that she started to cry and so did I. It was a very moving moment. During Gary's pep talk I could see the disbelief on Angie's face, she was not taking any of this, later she talked as if she did but her face and body language spoke volumns that she thought it all was a piece of crap and noone was going to tell her what to do. At this point, I was still crying over Tina's reaction I was also getting pissed off at Angie. It is so hard to have any sympathy for her because she rejects any help that is being offered her.

It is now Day 65, 22 days or 3 weeks and 1 day after the meltdown. Remember folks this challenge last 100 days and now there will only be 3 more weighins, 3 episodes, or 35 days left. The next weightin will be in 1 week.

Bone crusher is up: He was 397 and now is 386. He has lost 11lbs.
Total : 38lbs

Dr. Ian makes a comment how BC is losing it the right way through diet and exercise and that medical intervertion aka surgery (gastric bypass) is not necessary. You should see Carnie's face. The panel calls Carnie up next and Carnie and Dr. Ian get into it.

Carnie was 174 and is now 173. She has lost 1 lb in 3 weeks. She did say that she was not eating right and eating when her daughter eats and she should stick to 3 meals and no eating after 6pm. BC and Dr. Ian disagree and say she should be eating 5 small meals every 3 hours. Some of Carnie's comments Dr. Linda and she comments that Carnie's is trying to punish herself with her diet and a lot of people react that way and that they need to talk about it. Harvey is not giving Carnie any grief about her weight lost because she is not BSing the panel.

Carnie has lost a total of 15lbs.

Tina was 173 and is now 164. She lost 9lbs.
Total : 29 lbs.

Nick was 163 and is now 160. He has lost 3lbs. (Also lost 3lbs during the meltdown episode but he never got a chance to weightin)
Total : 15 lbs.

Nick comments that the eating in moderation and the exercise is really calming him down.

Ericka was 140 and is now 132. She lost 8lbs. (Also lost 3lbs during the meltdwon episode but she never got a chance to weightin)
Total : 20lbs.

She is only 4lbs away from the goal of 128lbs that the panel set for her but she would like to be 123lbs and that is what she is going for. I think Erika is very close to being the first woman to reach her goal weight.

Vinnie was 259 and is now 254. He lost 5lbs.
Total : 20lbs

He is a little upset cause the panel want him to lose 15 more pounds and he thought he was only 10 pounds away from his goal. Dr., Linda also mentioned that his cast mates had been giving him a hard time about being on CFC (that explains alot of last eps fireworks). He says that they have been alot more supportive now that he is looking better.

Ted was 171 and is now 167. He lost 4lbs.
Total : 22 lbs.

Ted is only 2 lbs away from reaching his goal weight.

Angie: I have nothing nice to say about her or her attitude.

The stress test clip is shown.

Angie was 211 and is now 213. Yes, she gained 2lbs.
Total : 13 lbs.

Now the BS excuses are starting to fly and I will probably post later about it cause I just couldn't keep them all straight. But the one I like the best was that 'but I do work out' and Dr. Ian looks at her in disbelief and says 'you couldn't even so 5 minutes on the treadmill during the stress test'. Anige claims that she does work out that she jogs when she is on the treadmill. Then she says that in her mind she is jogging on the treadmill. Well, I guess she is eating right and durn right slim in her mind as well as working out. I am gagging at this point. She starts to refute everything that the cardiologist said at the stress test that she was supposed to not workout for 2 weeks cause of not being on her meds, then she says she couldn't workout because she was on the wrong meds. Dr. Ian is upset with her because because he flew out from the east coast to be with her during the stress test and she is now telling him that the cardiologist and he do not know what they are talking about. Angie also commented that she does not appreciate the panel and the show (paraphrasing here) are trying to make her look like an idiot. Harvey really questions how vigourously she is working out. He tells her that he will work out with her on a daily basis for the next 5 days (or was it 9 days), Angie's claims that her schedule is packed and she doesn't have time for Harvey. Very reluctuntly she agrees to train with Harvey. Walking back to her seat Angie again annouces that this might be her last weightin. As all the cast leaves the set to go to the scales, Carnie and Tina both talk to Angie, and Angie again uses the 'noone understands my schedule is packed, that she only had time for 3 hours of exercise since the last weightin.' Tina tells her that her schedule is also packed, with a baby and she had 3 companies she runs, and that you need to find the time. Angies says well I have 4 companies ... I think no matter what Angie will always find a way to out top what anyone else has to say.

At the scales the Blue team wins 23lbs to the Red Teams 16lbs. The Red Team did lose a total of 18lbs but 2lbs were subtracted for the 2 lbs Angie gained back.

The next weightin with be in in one weeks time.

The thing is, is Angie quiting or what???

Stats so far

The panel wanted Angie to loose 30lbs and she has lost 13lbs with 35 days to go.

BC has lost 38 out of his 45lbs goal.

Carnie has lost 15 out of her 32 lbs goal.

Erika has lost 20 out of her 24 lbs goal.

Nick has lost 15 out of his 25 lbs goal.

Ted has lost 22 out of his 24 lbs goal.

Tina has lost 29 out of her 35 lbs goal.

Vinnie has lost 20 out of his 35 lbs goal.

BC, Erika, Ted and Tina are so close that unless something major happens they will all reach their goal weights and may surpass them. This would be a record number of people reaching their goal wieghts.

I also think Nick might reach it. But he has never been a big looser, just small and steady.

Vinnie and Carnie haven't been consistent with their diets and with 3 more weeks to go will they change and stick to it.

Angie, well there is always a lost cause every season.

correction & apology

I posted that the Red Team had an spiritual retreat with the Dakota Indians. My mistake, I watched the tape again and the Red Team praticipated in a ritual with Spirit Drummers from the Standing Rock Sioux from South and North Dakota. My sincerest apologies if I have offended anyone.

Hopefully Angie will quit. It's sad, because there are so many people in her same shoes, but making the excuses to themselves. When faced with this incredible opportunity, and Harvey's offer to, in essence, be her private personal trainer, who in the heck would not jump at the opportunity if they truly wanted to help themselves????

No, Angie just wants to sit and whine and make excuses. She's doing no one any favors by being on this show and is actually doing a disservice to herself and people watching that truly want to learn. It's sad.

And who is she, anyways?

No clue who Angie is actually but I'm not impressed with her so far.

I didn't get to see the whole show but what I did see, she appeared to be a spoiled brat.
