I have watched this season from the beginning (for once), and while I feel Nick has issues, in my opinion, it's not whining. He seems to become overly emotionally invested in things (I suspect he's kind of an all or nothing type of guy), then loses his temper when a wrench is thrown into the works.

He doesn't appear to handle either competition or adversity very well, but I'd say it's more anger than whining. He reminds me of men that sit around and yell at the TV during sporting events. To me, I guess, that's not whining, but it is some other negative emotion release. I hope that the psychologist will continue to work with him on identifying and getting it out in other ways - maybe he'll continue the boxing sessions.

As for everyone else, I'm liking this group, so far.

This show went downhill after season 2. I still watch it but I don't love it the way I used to. This group of celebs seem really focused on losing weight but I don't like any of them yet.

Nick needs to see an anger management specialist. his team will get nothing accomplished if he keeps acting like a 2-year old.

Man.... this really IS CFC meltdown night. Excuses, excuses, excuses galore. Angie was full of them, and now here goes Vinnie.

I don't understand why the Red Team voted out Carnie. There doesn't seem to be any logic as to why Ted and Tina voted her off.

I am so mad at Angie now, hearing all her BS excuses. Yes, she has a disease, yes she was on steriods for 12 years. She smokes and did so before the hike. She is not working out. She did not work out during the last 12 years. Except to run her mouth off making excuses. Have you ever heard the term 'Fit Fat' that refers to people work are overweigh and yet still workout. It is better to workout regularly regards what size you are. You can be unhealthy and be skinny. There is also another phrase 'skinny fat' whick refers to folks who technically are their goal weight yet when their ratio of body fat to muscle is measured (BMI) they can be technically obsese. Dr. Ian also called her and Vinnie out because they were not following their diets. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Vinnie the only person you embarass is yourself evertime you open your mouth. Angie, I cannot believe you think you should have been captain of the Red Team. A captain, a leader leads by example. This is a get fit and lose weight competition. A good Captain would be exercising everyday and sticking to a food plan everyday even though it is hard. A good captain/leader would be trying to quit smoking and encourage his or her teammates, a good captain would at least try. At this point in the game you are not even worth roadkill. Its easy to walk off the set. Its easy to argue and have a temper tantrum. Its easy to have an anxiety attack. A captain, a good leader does not do things the easy way. What is embarassing is that you are using your poor health, and your kids as an excuse to do easy. No matter how much you pout or justify your actions I don't see you trying so no you should not be captain and I hope you can see through that body of lies you are feeding yourself and grow up. Don't tell me you love your kids when you are doing everything you can to make sure you are going to have an early death.

    August 26 - episode 4 - Big Meltdown Special

Episode 4 - Special Meltdown Edition

note: due to next week being Labor Day weekend it may be 2 weeks before we find out what happens. I will post when I find out.

Day 42 - the halfway point - 6 weeks in

At the Fit Camp the teams have a vote off and pick who leaves the team permanently.

    Blue Team Results

Angie votes BoneCrusher cause he told her to.
Nick votes Erika off cause he said he wants to help the Red Team.
    Erika votes Nick off.
BoneCrusher votes of Angie with his vote being the deciding one.

    Red Team Results

Tina votes off Carnie for no reason.
Ted votes off Carnie for no reason.
    Vinnie votes off Ted.
    Carnie voted off Tina.

Carnie is a bit upset but Angie is more so. For some reason Angie assumes that she will be replacing Carnie as the Team Captain. (where she got that idea I have no clue) Immediately Vinnie says he wants Ted as captain, Angie starts to walk off saying she wants to be captain. I'm going when have you shown any inclination that you should be captain. Angie immediately retaliates by asking him you made him the spokes person of the group. The discussion breaks up and Vinnie tells Nick that if Angie is the captain of the Red Team he will walk off the show. Nick is thrilled that there is now disharmony on the Red Team. The teams are supposed to go on a hike but before they do that all the woman are shown back at a trailer giving Angie a hard time because she is smoking in the bathroom.

This Fit Camp Challenge is a hike through the woods. The teams are put into pairs and all the team has to finish, it is a timed event. Ted is paired with Tina. Angie is paired with Vinnie. Nick is paired with Erika and Bone is paired with Carnie. Immediately you can she Angie having problems. Tina is commenting to the camera while walking up a hill that Angie has not been working out. You can tell that Ted and Tina are upset with Angie. I have a feeling from the the comments here and later at the weighin everyone knows who is doing the food plan and the workout routines. Angie is having trouble breathing and they have to call in a medic. Although Tina and Ted are pissed off at Angie they come back and say we are doing this as a team. At first Vinnie is very against Angie but as soon as he realizes she has a heart condition he becomes her protector. After her breathing is back to normal Ted helps Angie through the rest of the course. Tina and Vinnie meet up with the Blue Team and tell them what happens. Its part yeah Angie is a slacker and yeah we had to call a medic. Blue Team wins.

    Day 43 - weightin

    1. Angie - ws 212 was given a goal of 4 lbs. She lost 1 lb and now weights 211. Total of 15lbs.

She said that in the past 2 weeks she had only worked out once. She starts making excuses about her heart condition and that is why she cannot work out. Dr. Ian calls her on that. Before the show started she had a stress test. He called her cardiologist who wants her to lose weight and work out cause that is good for her heart. Dr. Ian noted that there are things she can control and things she cannot. She cannot control her heart condition but she can control what she eats. Dr. Ian noticed as Fit Camp she ate a patrami sandwich and when he asked her about she told him that she was going to eat it and she had a piece of carrot cake. She could have eaten something else at Fit Camp and she chose not too. At this point the excuses starting coming out. That is does not feel part of the team that she is trying, Ted and Tina are commenting in the back ground and so is Vinnie. They are not buying it. Neither is anyone on the Blue Team. At one point Ted and Tina are laughing so hard that they need kleenex to wipe the tears from their eyes. The eye rolling and side comments are funny. I do like how everyone is seeing through Angie. Meanwhile Angie is saying that noone understands her condition and she can't push herself like the other people can, that they are in better shape than she is etc... Harvey is not taking it either and telling she is just full of excuses and that her target for next weightin is 6 lbs.

At this point the Red Team all vote Tina in as the new captain and the new team name is :Hot Buttered Soul.

    2. Bonecrusher was 401lbs with a target of 6lbs he is now 397 a loss of 4lbs. His target is 8lbs. Total 27lbs.

I love BC's upbeat attitude. He also had problems on the hike but did not have an anxiety attack about and then claim he was having a heart problem like an ex teammate of his. The judges sent BC to Sumo Wrestling. One of the referees was very impressed with BC. Its not pretty watching DC in a japaneese groin cloth. Thankfully he has biker shorts on underneath. But it is a great piece.

    3. Tina was 181 last weighin with ha target of 4 lbs. She is now 173. She has lost 8lbs for a total of 20lbs.

At this point she turns around and gives Angie a heartfelt speak about how Angie claims noone understands her condition but that Tina lost her father 6 months ago to the same condition so she understands and that she will be there for Angie and so will the whole team. Everyone feels it. I just hope Angie does not disappoint Everyone.

    4. Carnie is up and they show the clip from 3 weeks ago when she could not climb up a wall at an indoor rock climbing facility. This time Dr. Linda is with her and Carnie makes it up to the top.

Carnie was 177lbs with a target of 4lbs. She has lost 3lbs for a total of 14 lbs.

    5. Vinnie is up he has gained 2 lbs and is 259. He claims that he has an explanation. That with walking on the Treadmill 5 days a week, plus Pilates he has put on muscle and that weight more than the fat he has lost. First of all there is cardio training and muscle building workouts. Vinnie is working on his heart with the Tmill and strengthening his core muscles doing the Pilates. He is not doing any muscle building that I can see. Also Dr. Ian has heard from the others that Vinnie is doing the Vinnie Diet where he is eating a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Cheating on the food plan can stop wieght loss regardless of the excersize he is doing.. He has lost 15 lbs and has a target of 6lbs for the next weightin.

    6. Ted weightin in 174 with a target of 3 lbs he is now 171. He lost his target weight for a total of 18lbs. His target for thenext weight in is 3 lbs. The judges are very happy with his progress. Every weight in he reaches his target goal. The panel congratulates him and ask how his is doing it since he has been on the road for the last 4 weeks....at this point the BIG MELTDOWN starts.

... Vinnie interjects about how come Ted only has to lose 3lbs for next week and Vinnie has to lose 6lbs. Harvey tries to explain the target goals they come up with are based on the how much weight each person is expected to have lost per how much they have...Vinnie is not listening and then claims that the judges are just trying to embarass him when he weighs in. Personally, he is doing a fine job all by himself right now... Vinnie is calling Dr. Linda a snitch because she told Dr, Ian about Vinnie's ''Vinnie Diet" somehow he get Nick involved...and then Vinnie attacks the judges by claiming they are hard on Angie and how she almost had a heart attack at the Fit Camp...both Harvey and Dr. Ian deny that she was even close to having a heart attack. Everyone starts piping in and I am not going to even try to figure our who say what to whom. It is a real free for all. Angie get upset with all the yelling and leaves. Tina goes after her and we get a big TOO BE CONTINUED

There is a bit of a preview with Ant voicing over saying only 2 people have completed CFC successfully and that one Gary Busey will be meeting with everyone next episode.

(To Angie) Now that I had some time to time about it, I am sure you love your kids, its yourself you do not love. You don't think enough of yourself to workout, eat right and quit smoking even though you have a heart condition. You are being self centered and selfish because you will be robbing your own kids of their mom.

I am such a glutton for punishment and am watching the show again (3rd time) to check on certain aspects, this time Angie's excuses at the weighin. Angie is saying that she is the weakest and most out of shape person there. That I do not disagree. The thing is she is not trying, not committing. If she was trying her teammates would not be giving her such a hard time. Her main issue was that she is 50 to 70 lbs heavier then the other woman so things were so much harder for her. Wrong. At the beginning there was a 38 lb diff between Angie and Carnie, a 33 lb diff between Angie and Tina, and yes a 74 lb diff between Angie and Erika. Still there have been a lot of overweight woman on this show, Wendy Kaufman, Chastity Bono as heavy or heavier than Angie and the big diff is that they tried to the best of their ability. You could see it on their faces and body language. You cannot see effort on Angie's face. Angie also claims she has a winning spirit. Yeah, and I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale.

Thanks - because I did miss yesterday's episode. And, I have a question for you, as well, from reading your summaries (and thanks for doing those, while I'm at it!). Last season, I thought Tempest almost resented being there, and I thought she put forth very little effort as a result. Do you get a similar feeling from Angie?
