I don't know how they've been able to justify keeping Gina around this long, to be perfectly honest.

| Re: Canada's Next Top Model 1. Rebecca 2. Sinead 3. Gina 4. Tara 5. Cori 6. Tia 7. Mo Suprisingly, I'm a fan of Gina's, so I want to see her make it far. And I like Rebecca more than Sinead, but I wouldn't mind Sinead winning. |

| Re: Canada's Next Top Model Steff's gone? She should've taken Gina with her. Tia will be insufferably annoying, I can just tell. Mo's deadweight, out! I still don't get the Cori love. Sinead isn't gonna get taller so that automatically keeps her out of the top two for me. Rebecca and Tara would make a great final two, methinks.

| Re: Canada's Next Top Model OMG, I'm on Team Mo now! She's so adorable; also, her body is the only one that's suited for the runway. I totally take back that remark I made earlier about her being wrong for Paris. |

| Re: Canada's Next Top Model I still totally love Mo but she just isn't giving us good photos, and if you're not photogenic then, you cannot be Canada's Next Top Model. She is definately gorgeous though and she really shines in video so she's probably better suited to being an actress, if she has any acting talent that is. I also don't hate Gina, she is very very beautiful but she's totally commercial/ lad's mag model and not high fashion. At least from what we've seen from her so far, I think that's a fair statement. And for you Degrassi fans, seriously though what does Degrassi or Hockey or skating really have to do with fashion? Jeanne should be doing media training because she's a huge deal and beyond knowledgeable in fashion media. What's a 17 year old relatively unknown actor on some lame but beloved by others show really going to teach them? Besides, my problem with it is that when people think of Canadian television they think of Degrassi which is a bit embarassing. It's like Australian's and Home and Away or Neighbours. I just think we shouldn't be perpetuating any stereotypes here. It's like, next they're going to have the girls staying in igloos and doing a photoshoot with a moose while eating mapel syrup and Canadian bacon or something. ![]()

| Re: Canada's Next Top Model Quote:
Firstly, they don't even show CNTM in the US so we shouldn't be concerned about them getting a stereotypical view of us (yes, I know people can watch it on youtube or whatever. What I mean is that they didn't make the program with the idea in mind that Americans would be viewing it). Secondly, there is nothing wrong with hockey or Degrassi or any of that. They are part of Canadian culture and they are in no way inherently embarassing or stupid. They only become so when someone makes them so, labelling them as dumb or lame, or viewing them as such. (What do sports specifically have to do with fasion? Probably very little, though there have been sports-themed fashion shoots before. But few challenges on CNTM deal specifically with fashion [the same holds true with challenges on other NTM programs, at least in the programs I have seen]. They're just a way to stretch out the program. And they're a way to see who responds enthusiastically to challenges, as opposed to grumbling). Thirdly, I'm sure the actors on Degrassi have had extensive experiences with the media, giving interviews and such, not only to Canadian press but to American press as well (as the show does air, quite sucessfully, in the US). Jeannie Beker, on the other hand, conducts interviews - she does not give them. She does not know what it is like to be on the receiving end of the media's questions, whereas the Degrassi actor does. So I'm sure s/he will be able to give some good insights to the models-to-be. As for Mo - didn't Yasmin point out that she was quite short? I seem to recall her doing so at last panel. I do like her smile. Gina is more of a commercial model but I think she could do quite successfully in that field (and I have argued elsewhere about how commercial modelling is a legitimate - and lucrative - field). I don't know about winning the CNTM title, though; I don't think she has a chance of getting that. I feel I'm being force-fed Rebecca's "specialness;" she holds no appeal. I still think Sinead or Cori have the best chances of winning, with Sinead in front. (I remember reading an article before CNTM aired wherein the writer gave odds on the various contestants. He picked Sinead as the winner and, at the time, I didn't really agree with him. But her haircut - such a little thing - has literally been transforming and I think she is doing very well. And she seems nice, too, which makes me like her even more).
