Re: Canada's Next Top Model - 2006

Ugh. The girls have been revealed and I'm a bit disappointed.
Like last season, the majority of the girls come from one province. Last season five girls came from BC, this season SIX girls come from Ontario. And while I give them credit for including one more province (Quebec), the whole... 6 to 4 thing really puts me off. I don't think the east coast is ever going to have a candidate.

Well, Ontario makes up almost 40 % of the population of Canada so it makes sense that they would have more representation. And ANTM doesn't seem to make any effort to have contestants from different states on the show so...I think they should pick the best contestants, regardless of what province they hail from.
I haven't seen pictures of any the candidates so I have no comment on particular contestants.

Omgosh I'm so happy!
They look WAY better than last season, I must say.

I really like Tia, Steff, Cori & Rebecca. Tara has potential.

It's hard to tell from just one photo but they do look like a good crop of contestants. That, and the fact that they've moved the contest to Toronto, bodes well. Not to mention Jay.

Re: Canada's Next Top Model - 2006

I want Mo, Rebecca, and Tia for the final three.

I like Mika because I think she will be fun but she looks old and is old.

Jacqueline, Steff, or Gina will probably go first.

Re: Canada's Next Top Model - 2006

Hmmm, no plus sized girls. I personally am glad they haven't included them in the Canadian versions. I'm not weightist or anything, but it's just not fair to them. Anyway...

I want to say though that these girls are beautiful, Mo i think her name is, is stunning. All of them are.

Re: Canada's Next Top Model - 2006

Hi everyone! I'm excited too to see the new CNTM with Jay hosting. And I'm glad that Nole Marin is back too! Should be great! From my standpoint, on the west coast, there are 7 girls from the east. But two girls from the prairies. It's too bad the Atlantics, the NWT, and Nunavet aren't represented. I'd like a bit more diversity.

Maybe we should start a new 2007 CNTM thread?

Re: Canada's Next Top Model - 2006

The ages are better than what we ususally get in ANTM. Pics looks good, too. I'll need to take another look and put my top 3. But maybe I should not. Lately my favorites in ANY reality TV show don't make it to the end.

ETA: Well, Mika is my fav looking at the main picture page, but her age (25) makes me cringe. Mo is a cutie. Rebecca looks much younger than 22 and I feel she might really transform herself in front of the camera. Tara, Tia and Steff also look good and are not too old at 19 and 20.
