Then get a job and buy the ring yourself--or, rather, whatever ring your can afford with your income... How does he plan on supporting his young bride-to-be while she is still a full-time student? If they get married, he/she should pay for her education and not rely on her parents to pay it.
I absolutely agree with you, but unfortunatly I think for many of these kids, being from a family with money is the same as having it on your own. I think this is half the problem with the way society is headed today. So many young Americans have this undue sense of entitlement. As if they deserve things just for the sake of existing. I think it has everything to do with the parents who probobly thought they were doing a great job by GIVING their children every opportunity in life. (i.e. I want to give my children everything I didn't have...) So children stopped having to earn their keep by milking the cows, hanging the laundry to dry, doing dishes, washing the car or, heck, even bringing out the garbage once in a while and started sitting around playing Xbox while mom waits on them hand and foot and gives them everything their heart desires without having to do a thing.
It's no woner they think the world should be handed to them on a silver platter. It's amazing how many of my peers even consider cable television a basic human right. Unfortunatly for these kids, I think it's the same story on a much larger scale.

It's seems like Jason would be getting old enough to start having access to that trust fund we all know he has. That's why it is so impressive when we see someone like Ivanka Trump or even Miss Lauren striking out and working to make their own way. You can't really blame them for using their parents money, status and connections to help them along their way. Wouldn't you?

I think Jason is a slime ball. For most of these kids, an engagement ring is not much different then renting a beach house in Malibu. What ever your heart desires......

Re: The Hills

Has anyone else read the article with Audrina defending Justing Bobby? I can't find it, but I know I read it within the past few days. I was hoping maybe it's a dream because if she's still defending him, then they must still be in some type of contact.

But compared to Spencer, at least in all the previews, Jason looks so much less slimey. It takes some kind of "man" to make Jason look good.

There was a short article in this week's US Magazine. She basically said he was so cute and it was hard for him to be on camera but he was willing to do it to be with her.
A couple of weeks back when Audrina and Lauren were on the aftershow they asked about Justin Bobby and her response indicated they were still together and Lauren said some guardedly positive things about him (can't remember what exactly though I remember her saying that he wasn't really her type. She still didn't seem thrilled by him but seemed like she was trying to be nice).

That's such crap! (Not you, CCL, but the reason for his being a jerk.) I still think the only reason he's dating Audrina is to be on the show. Also, Whitney had a boyfriend last season that we never knew about 'cause they refused to have their dates taped. Audrina could've done this, too, but didn't have to 'cause BobbyJustin wanted to be on TV...

I did get that impression too. I suppose I just keep wondering how all of these girls can have such poor taste in men.

Thanks for letting me know I wasn't crazy and did read it somewhere!

Re: The Hills

Did any of you see Jason "rap" on MTV's Celebrity Rap show, or whatever it's called? I just saw his recap...he was pretty bad...and couldn't move if his life depended on it. He's not even a celebrity--not even a D-lister like they usually get for those shows...

I think if he really wanted to be on camera, he'd act a little more flamboyant...he doesn't seem like the kinda guy that'd want that attention, or maybe he'd try a lot harder with Audrina

He doesn't seem so much "slimy" to me, as just kind of inconsiderate

Jason's a rapper too now? He should just team up with Spencer and make a bad rap album.

As far as Jason's money, I heard his grandfather is extremely rich so he's living off his family. He never worked on The Hills but was always able to do things like renting summer houses on the beach. And remember how he was mad at Lauren because she had to work on his birthday? He has no concept of the real world.

See, I don't get that. I think just by dating her, he knew he'd be on camera...kind of like Brody when he was first dating Lauren. If he was really shy and didn't want to be on camera, he would've made that a stipulation of going out with her. He could've asked her to come over to his place, where MTV couldn't have sent in cameras without his permission. It can be done, as evidenced by Whitney and her boyfriend last season. What boyfriend? Exactly... They were never on camera...
