Re: The Hills

I agree about the two seperate story lines. It irks me to no end having to sit through the Speidi scenes. But I am guessing MTV sees value in the loathing most of America must have for his busted chops and sickning smooth lines.

I have to admitt there was some entertainment value to watching his reaction to her painting over that incredible piece of art. It seems so rediculous for him to be mad I was actually convinced he was kidding. (Of course I was convinced he was kidding when the thing was first painted and when he brought home the video games.)

This kid has some obvious issues and I think MTV knows that as much as we hate him, we are going to watch just to see those moments when he looks like a tool. We have had plenty of them already this season.

Last nights episode was very little Lauren and much more Speidi, Audrina and Justin Bobby. I can see Justin Bobby's sexy factor, although I agree he has that dirty "wild boy" thing going. I have lusted over my fair share of bad boys before and I am sure this is just a phase. He has nice eyes, I will give him that and he looks a little like one of my favorite singers Citizen Cope.

I just want more Lauren. I know they are setting up these other people to help the show evolve, but we all came for the Lauren.

His dad probably did his teeth. His dad supposedly is some huge Hollywood dentist to all the stars. He and Heidi have weird horseteeth in common. Actually, Audrina's teeth are weird, too. All of them have teeth that are too big (and too light-bright white...yes, teeth actually can be too white!). Reminds me of that commercial where the old lady and gentleman accidentally switched their dentures so her teeth are too large and his are too small!

Do they own the place or are they renting an apartment? Where I live, you're not allowed to paint the walls prior to getting the landlord's OK...and I don't see landlords here thinking that mural would've been cool... I read in US that Speidi said that they never argue and that last season, they purposely argued for the camera to make for good TV. Whatever...

Re: The Hills

Actually , it occured to me last night while watching the show that Spencer's top teeth are too big for his mouth. What really skeeves me out is it's like they are stuck to his top lip! When he talks most of the time he only uses his bottom lip. Watch , I swear it will drive you crazy!!!!
I like Audrina but she really doesn't have much of a personality that or she is very self- concious about the camera.
I don't like the whole 2 different story lines either.
I was proud that Heidi stuck up for herself to the "tool" spencer. The engagement is a bunch of crap and if they do get married in real life I give it 6 months max. Spencer doesn't know how to relate to anyone but himself. Sad very Sad!
Can't wait until next week!

Re: The Hills

Hi everyone newbie here!

First I wanna say that I love this show and was very happy when it started this season. I'm glad that Whitney is getting more air-time, or at least will be getting more, and Audrina is on it more. I just hope Lo is going to be more of a fixture too.

Anywho, it is so hard to not whenever I see Spencer and Heidi together. Heidi is so clueless but than I think back to when I was her age and the guy I was dating/engaged too , hopefully she will come around too.

Spencer is obviously completely selfish, I mean, my husband would never just paint a wall or buy arcade video games without talking to me first about it. Not only because he's lazy (as far as painting) but he has enough respect for me and realizes that it's our house!!! I was practically cheering when Heidi was painting over the wall and was like 'Surprise...I have a surprise for you' when Spencer game home! Although the look on his face scared me! Hopefully she will take more control over him when he brings home new 'surprises'. He is really truly a selfish person.

Justin-Bobby, I agree, is cute and has great hair! But he seems like a typical bad boy who truly doesn't care about Audrina, at least not in the sense that I think she cares about him. Which I think was evident when they ahd drinks with Lauren, if he truly cared he would have acted better in front of her. Hopefully she will stop seeing him soon.

I think LC is really just looking out for her friends when it comes to voicing her opinion on her friends boyfriends. I think she would be doing her friends a disservice if she lied to them, when they ask, about how she truly felt. However, she also should realize that it will take some time before they see the light. Which they will...including Heidi.

Re: The Hills

This show is truely a great educational show. It should be veiwed together by EVERY mother/father and their daughters.
If I had a daughter I'd sit and watch it with her to point out that while Spencer talks big, his body language shows he does NOT care about anyone but himself.
The way spencer treats heidi is a form of abuse. He even said something to the effect of "it's great to have power". He is totally bad news.
I wonder if Lauren will be there for her when Heidi needs shelter?

Re: The Hills

Their would be no point in that seeing as Spencer would feed her some line and she'd be back in a split second, saying, "Lauren is just jealous". I hope LC is over it.

Re: The Hills

My mom has actually been watching this with me this season and as much as she thinks shows like The Hills are bad for young girls by forming some unrealistic expectation of what life is like, gets a kick out of it in spite of herself. She, like me, loves Lo and when she told Lauren to forget the gym and enjoy life and her Pink Berry we both giggled. I almost think Speidi will go through with a wedding just to show everyone how "for real" they are. When Heidi was showing Elodi her ring and getting the advice not to move too quickly she said something like "Not all girls meet a guy like Spencer" I almost died. She really has no realistic idea of what a real man is and what it's like to be really taken care of, not just bought things on a whim. The way it seems Spencer spends money is a complete example of how the lives they are living don't jive with the real world. I mean who buys, not one, but two arcade games out of the blue, without discussing it with your live-in girlfriend.

Maybe Spencer even thinks he loves Heidi and I am sure Heidi thinks she loves him....but I am wondering if these kids even know what love is. In my experience real love happens when; your late on the bills and can still laugh together, the weather sucks but you have fun anyway, the car breaks down and you walk each other to work, you have the flu and he makes you chicken noodle soup.........the stuff when things are not so perfect. In the lives they seem to lead it's all walks on the beach, lunch at the trendiest place and late nights at the clubs rubbing elbows with Brit and Lindsay (in between rehab of course)
I am sure that's not how it always is, but it must be pretty close. What has Spencer done, said or considered that shows he truly loves Heidi? Nothing.

Re: The Hills

Those are some great points tickerrose. My mother always said that it's easy for people to be nice when things are going well...but the true test of their character is how they treat you when things aren't going well for them. Did Brillo-Head live with Brody, or did he live alone before moving with with Heidi? Because you know that he would NOT have painted the walls without discussing it with Brody first.

The whole thing seems like a set up to me...like Heidi and Spencer planned what they were going to do for the sake of good television...and then they'd pretend to be upset with each other about it.

Don't get me wrong I love Lauren but she is kinda blah you know kinda boring. I think she is a nice girl but people like to see controversy. I can't wait until Spencer finally dumbs Heidi and then she looks all stupid for treating Lauren the way she did.

I am going to go with the latter. Look at these tools....Spencer and Justin Bobby. Both have a history of doing hurtful things to her friends, and she probably feels that she is being a good friend by trying to steer them clear of these guys. It's a no win situation as a friend, the girls are not going to want to hear the truth about these guys and will say she is jealous (a la Heidi), or if she says nothing, when the guy hurts her friend, she will ask, why didn't you tell me what you thought.
I think Lauren is just one of them females that doesn't trust men too much and when she see's one of her friends dating someone, they need to prove themselves. Which is a good and a bad thing. You know she is doing it because she cares for you but a female doesn't wnt her friend hating every man she dates
