First off, what proof does she really have that Spencer was the one who started the sex tape rumour (I mean, he's a likely suspect but where is the actual proof)? Secondly, I never got why she was so upset about it. Ok, I understand her being upset, but not to the point where "I wanted to die, it's the worst thing that ever happened to anyone wah-wah-wah." The only reason I can see her being that upset was if there really was a tape and she was worried about it coming out. But she has always maintained that there was not a tape. So what is she concerned about? People finding out she slept with Jason? What a shocker. If she doesn't want to be friends with Heidi...well, fine. No big deal. Just get over it already. I just find that Lauren acts so superior and it's not attractive.
The way Heidi had her head tilted after she said hi to Lauren at the party...like she was goading her on, waiting for her to say something. That was annoying as well.
I don't know why I bother watching this show. I've come along this far, I guess. And I do like Whitney (and Audrina to a lesser extent).
I totally agree with you, to me LC was acting really immature and the scene at the apartment definitely felt rehearsed. The producers probably told her to throw in some tears for the camera! I too don't get why LC keeps dragging the whole sex tape on. I mean if it isn't true then just forget about it and move on. Other than the sex tape there is no other topic for Heidi and LC to fight about so I am sure the producers want to drag this on as long as possible. I don't know about this show anymore, I was always a LC fan from way back in the Laguna Beach days however as of late she just annoys me. My favorite part of this week's episode was Audrina getting a promotion to a cubicle, she was so darn happy and cute about it.

Re: The Hills

I'm definitely starting (or maybe more than starting) to get sick of this whole sex tape rumour thing. It was just that, a rumour. There was no tape that circulated, there was nothing. And even if there was a tape that "circulated", it obviously didn't get very far. What type of damage could it have really done. It's not like anyone assumed she was still virtuous or "pure". I don't put it past Spencer and I'm sure it was him, but really, who cares?! Move on already Lauren.

Re: The Hills

At the end of Season 2, Lauren and Heidi weren't even fighting. They just weren't hanging out because Heidi was pre-occupied with Spencer. But then on the 1st episode of Season 3, they began fighting because of the sex tape rumor, which we don't even know that Heidi or Spencer (he probably does) even have anything to do with. It was wrong for Lauren to jump to conclusions, even though I can't think of anyone who would start that rumor besides Spencer. But Lauren was also right about saying that even if Heidi didn't know who started it she should have been concerned for Lauren, and if she did know that Spencer started it then she should have stopped it.

Re: The Hills

I agree with everyone that Lauren is getting more annoying each episode. She really needs to get over herself.

I truly believe that Heidi really has no idea whether or not Spencer started the rumor; I do not think she is capable of 'acting' that dumb (meaning I think she is that dumb in regards to Spencer). I think she wants to believe Spencer didn't do it because she loves him and believes he's a nice person and because Lauren was her friend. I think she's afraid to ask if he did do it for the same reasons. But really who cares at this point. It's over and done with and I think by now we all know what a hooch Lauren is.

I was getting really irritated when Lauren said 'if you want to apology I will talk to you...' than Heidi makes the effort to apology (not, IMO, really understanding what she was apologing for) and Lauren slams her and than the whole business of 'you are just as guilty as Spencer because you didn't stop it' please!!! She can't control Spencer and can not stop him from doing something she doesn't know he's going to do.

Whitney is slowly getting on my nerves. I think mostly because her 'role' on The Hills is really quite pointless. We need to see more of her or none of her.

The only thing that I didn't annoy me was how happy Audrina was to finally have her own cubicle.

Re: The Hills

I see others are finally getting to the point I was five weeks ago with regards to the show. The thing about Heidi is she's not a villain, and it's annoying that she's continually portrayed that way. Even if you don't like her and find her annoying, can you really say she's a bad person. She seems so oblivious about the things that go on around her. She's very whimsical and optimistic, and trusting. I thought this show became ridiculous when it started portraying her as the "bad guy" when she really never did anything that bad.

Kristin from Laguna beach was a better villain because she did purposefully do things to exclude and hurt others. Heidi is simply no that way. When she does things that appear rude, I thinks it's her being inconsiderate rather than mean.

That said, I also am not a fan of Lauren. I don't like how she treats other girls compared to how she treats men. I have been so disgusted with her acceptance of brody as her BFF even after the way Brodie treated her last season. Then she accepts Jason back into her life. After that it was all downhill for me. I wouldn't want Lauren as a friend because she is so self involved. Her life is so mundane and uninteresting at this point that she has to hold on to a rumor that is old news, no one cares! Get over yourself! Maybe if she did she'd get back to what made the show interesting in the first place. I liked the original premise: 4 girls in L.A. trying to make something of themselves. Somewhere in this whole Jason, Brody, Spencer, sextape mess everything fell apart.

I hope the characters of the show one day learn what what real friendship is and how how to value another person. They're so quick to dismiss eachother for really stupid reasons. It's just a game to them the way they treat eachother, and it's sickening - not entertaining - to watch (or in my case read about since I can't bring myself to watch).

Exactly! That's a huge part of the problem. Lauren lives in her little world that revolves around the same rich spoiled brats who don't have to face reality at all. She never really has to leave highschool. The only reason that I thought this behavior was entertaining when I saw it on Laguna beach is because it was so true. Highschool is that absurd, and it's funny see other kids experience many of the foolish things we all have and take them seriously.

Obvioulsy Lauren is still young, she's only 21, still I don't think her experience is representative of all or most 21 year olds. Her lifestyle is starting to become more Paris Hilton then anything else. This isn't something I can relate to, nor do I want to.

Re: The Hills

OF COURSE Lauren is going to be one self-centered chick. She is 21 yrs old and MTV has been doing a show based on HER life for 3-4 yrs now. That is a "drama queen/daddy's princess/rich bi-otch" dream come true!
And yes, they have to make stuff up and stage the rest. NO ONE has a super exciting life, 24/7.

What gets me is how they all keep referring to their friendships as "We have been best friends like furrevver" which in real life means 1-2 years.
Jenn Bunny/Lauren and then Lauren/Jason are the only ones that really qualify as "like furrevver".
And her childhood roots with Jason is why it doesn't bother me that she had him back on her show. They will always have a connection.

Re: The Hills

I don't recall any childhood roots with Jason, but with Lo, Steven and J. Bunz. She met Jason in 05 from what i recall.

Re: The Hills

As I recall Jason and Lauren didn't really know eachother that well until a certain hot tub party on Laguna beach. I don't believe they knew eachother very well, if at all before that.

Also, I find it interesting that I haven't heard of anyone on the Hills cast deny that everything is for the most part staged.

Re: The Hills

It irritates me that Lauren has so many people she refers to her as her "best friend".
Lo, Heidi, Bunz and Audrina have all be called her "best friend".
Only Whitney hasn't received that label.

I think Heidi thinks the whole feud between is because of the sex tape rumour, but for Lauren it goes deeper than that.
Even if Spencer didn't start the rumour he apparently posted some very unpleasant things about Lauren on his blog and he and Heidi went on Seacrud's show and basically trashed her.
Heidi called her a 'lowlife' apparently. I didn't hear any of this myself or read Spencer's blog.
I think that's the type of thing Lauren's referring to when she says Heidi should apologize, but Heidi appears to be focussing on the sex tape rumour and because she claims not to have started it she thinks she has nothing to apologize for.
She did make a snide little dig about them being "back in the movie making action" when the four of them encountered each other at Ketchup which I'm sure Lauren is also aware of after it made the show.
