My hubby works for a newspaper, so I always read. You are welcome.

He claims, in the article, that the show knew what he was doing.

I found the following comment rather disturbing:

"A&E spokesman Dan Silberman said the network has stopped working with Leccima, who doesn't appear in this season's episodes. Silberman says A&E isn't part of any transactions on the show and have not received complaints. He also says that the network doesn't investigate claims made by people on the show, opting to take them at their word."

Uh, hello? OK. I am a supermodel/millionaire. Put me on TV!

That I find very hard to believe after reading comments on the Atlanta Fox blog. It seemed very much a chance for local contractors to get their names on the air for free fake labor.

I also find it very hard to believe that Sam Lecima was allowed to produce and direct how the show was filmed and run, that the camera crews were just following him around La Dee Da.

Me, too.

A woman,w ho claims Lecima scammed money out of her said she was invited to what she thought was a wrap party. When it aired it was billed as an open house where people were interested in buying the house.

Conneticut Boys are back - June 10th

They're back.

The boys buy a 3 family house that had a fire. An investor started the rehab but quit after gutting the 2nd and 3rd floor was overwhelmed and sold the house to another investor; J Diddy, who contacted Than. J Diddy bought the property for $60,000 and wanted to sell it to Than for $100,000 but gave him a deal at $80,000.

Stats:
built in 1902
9 bedrooms 3 baths (3 bedrooms and 1 bath on each floor)
3,306 sf (1,102 each floor)

bought: $80,000
budget: $120,500
total: $200,500
timeline: 6 weeks ( sounds much more realistic then the 21 days we are used to hearing from San Antonio and Atlanta - although this is a bigger house)
projected sell price: $329,500

What I liked about this episode was that the crew did drive around looked at other houses in the area and looking up the comps, so they had a good idea at what the sell price should be.

Typical scenes of building the house in horrid weather. Very cold with ice every where. The plumbling could not go in until the weather warmed up because the glue would not work. All new plumbing and electrical went into the house. Still the fire was never addressed. From the San Antonio episodes we learned that you need to cover the charred wood with a special paint else when it rains the burned wood smell comes through. Of course Than is down in Florida complaining about how slow the progress is.

I did like that the city of Bridgeport sent them a notice that the house is a public hazard and that they might tear the house of down. Paul meets the city inspector and guess who shows up? The Mayor of Bridgeport. That seemed so staged that it reeked. After a tour of the property the Mayor says the house will not be demolished. Gee I kinda thought not.

During the open house Lori mentions that the company used alot of green products made by Shaw, the flooring and the carpet. They are jumping on the green movement.

Final stats:
insurance and interest of $8,288 added
total cost: $208,788
sell price: $329,900
profit: $121,112

Interesting last scene between Paul and Than. They are outside the house but the sky is blue and it is warm, the tree in front of the house is in full bloom indicating that it is either the end of April or May also indicating the house has not been sold.

The house is on 356 Newfield Avenue, in Bridgeport if anyone can find out if it has sold I would be interested in the date or if it is still on sale.

Re: Flip this House - on A&E

Fox Atlanta put up a third installment on Sam, this time they focused on the staging and talks with the guy Angie hired. The house they bought in April for a 14 day flip was still being staged in July.

Thanks for the info and the link jguitar the anchors are amazed at how many fans of the show are out there and they have gotten a ton of hits on their website and comments on their blogs and emails. The anchor also mention that this week is when A&E goes to court with Richard Davis over his suit against them.

David and Melina Montelongo split from Armondo

While reading the comments to Angie's letter on Dale Russell's blog on the FoxAtlanta website Melina Montelonga wrote a comment about how David split with his brother and is now working on real estate lectures see this link T.R.I.B.E - The Real Estate Investors Boot Camp Education Looks like one of those get rich on real estate schemes to me and then the site claims that stars from A&E's Flip This House will be attending????

Re: Flip this House - on A&E

Richard Davis of Trademark did a followup show tonight on his new show about Gus from season 1, Ginger had him evicted after having not paid any of his $900 a month rent. Richard wanted to continue giving him breaks but Ginger felt Gus would never come around (the guy owed more than $14,000) so she did up the paperwork for eviction and had him served. The house of course was a mess and had to be cleaned, fumigated, painted and landscaped.
The numbers were: bought $136K, improvements $3750 and they sold it for $197K for what Richard called a $57,250 profit (but he does not factor in the cost of the initial upgrade or the $14,000 that he lost in rent).

Unbelievable that Richard gave this guy such a break and he still stiffed. Sorta indicates a pattern to me here. For 2 years Gus did not pay any rent. Bet he will find another place to rent and do the same. Wonder where all the rent money went, booze, cigarettes, drugs. Certainly not into self improvement or cleaning supplies.
