Re: Flip this House - on A&E

After watching The Real Deal on TLC and then catching FTH (after watching very little of it since Richard and company disappeared), I have to say, there is just something about Richard that makes watching Trademark just so much more enjoyable. I'm done with FTH now that TRD is on TLC.

Re: Flip this House - on A&E

I don't understand why Angie is using an investor. Most flippers buy homes below market and get a loan with a credit and flip before the first payment is due. It seems that most of the properties so far cost a lot and require a lot of work. They to not stay on any type of schedule.

Armondo and the Cat House - can you believe this guy???? He wanted to just paint the walls over the dirt, contamination, smells etc, and essentially just "cover up" the problems. Had he listened to his brother he would have saved time and probably some money too. I wouldn't be caught dead buying any house that was flipped by the Montelongos. Not in this lifetime. And is it just me or have Armondo and his brother packed on some poundage over the past few months?

I think it is more noticible in Dave. But when do they excercise all they do is drive around in the Hummer ( which is so pretencious and expensive) and work in the office. Both these men need to lose a good 50 to 60 lbs maybe more cause I think David is taller and carries more.

ITA. Covering up is what Armando does best. All he cares about is the profit and not the image of the company. I'd be more worried about new owners and potential buyers seeing the program and the shortcuts taken to maximize the size of his wallet.

The imagery of the Cat House was so disgusting I could practically smell it through the TV.

As for The Real Deal - I agree there as well! I enjoy this program so much more, especially now that A&E seems to prefer scripting their "reality" (Armando's doctor appointment?)

Re: Flip this House - on A&E

I know people in San Antonio who have encountered these cheats and can't stand them. They are giving the city a bad name. This is the first season where they are showing that there are inspectors and people who monitor the situation. I'm glad to see that, but they are still not being honest about the work and their business.

Re: Flip this House - on A&E

My husband and I just discovered this show. Have only seen the ones with Armando & crew. He is very arrogant...which is why we can't stop watching! Loved the "cat house" episode (kept hoping more and more bad things would happen to him!). I also read that they are staging parts of these episodes. Makes watching it a bit less fun, not knowing what's real and what's not (the coincidence of driving around, stopping at what seemed to be a garage sale, and then finding the cat house next door. Too fake). Haven't seen any of the episodes with anyone else yet.

I haven't heard any new things, recently, but their own cousins own a remodeling company and have taken ads out and posted on their website that they are NOT affiliated with the Montelongos of the show.
The houses which they show are mainly in lower economic areas of town and rumor has it that the houses are NOT sold. People drive by and report that "for rent" signs are on some of the homes. Keep you posted.

Just repeats for Mom's Day weekend

There were no new shows for the the Mom's Day weekend. A&E just repeated the first Atlanta show showcasing Angie, her new company and her investor. Ahh, not seeing Armondo having a tantrum just wrecks my weekend.
