It's sick that young girls are wanting to be like her. If she wasn't a Hilton, she's be answering phones at a car dealership (a small one).

There was a little blip in this week's issue of The Week magazine that talked about how Paris was out to lunch with Pam Anderson at this swank restaurant. Suddenly Paris slams her hands down and says something like "I hate reading!" and demands that the waiter read the entire menu to her. Pam Anderson was like "I know I'm blonde, but come on!"

ETA : I think the commercial is funny. I'm not offended by it because it's "sexual," but rather because that is apparently what the ideal American woman's body is supposed to look like. She looks like a twelve year-old boy in drag. And no, it doesn't make me want to eat that burger either.

I have not seen the tv version, but I did catch the one online. I have to say, although I would not call it soft porn, I WOULD NOT want my young sons to see this commercial. I don't care who it is in that commercial, it is not appropriate for children to see.

But the target audience for Carl's Jr. is men age 18-34. So of course this brainless twit and her tight little backside don't do it for you (or me either, for that matter).

I find this whole thing hugely ironic considering Carl's Jr. is supposedly a huge supporter of the right to life movement. Makes me want to ask them: "Which is it, boys? You just support whichever side of the mysogyny puts the most cash in your pockets?"

Unfortunately, it doesn't do it for a huge number of men too. I have yet to hear any man say he thought it was sexy (and this is at work, where our entire business is based on producing and evaluating marketing, including tv commercials)... most agree it's funny and not what Carls' obviously intended. The only ones I've actually heard so far that thought it was 'sexy' or anywhere near it yet are teenage girls around 16 (because that age group is the sheep group who pick their icon, such as Paris Hilton, and then try to emulate them in any way they can, and believe if Paris says something is 'hot', then it is, lol), and also some teenage boys (around age 15-17), but for the most part, the boys also think it's funny and focus on the car, not the slut sliding around on it. But in no case, have I heard anyone mention the commercial making them want to pick up the burger. Most of the comments I've heard regarding the burger are comments about how bad it looks and how it falls apart.

There will be exceptions, naturally, and some who will find it sexy -- but it's fallen far short of what they intended for it when it was produced. I think the biggest group of people who've even taken notice are the ones who want to ban it for being soft-porn. If they'd keep their mouths shut, this commercial wouldn't even get much mention-time. :p
I live in my own world. But it's ok, they know me there.

What's wrong with you people? Doesn't everyone wash their cars like that? Yeesh, what a bunch of prudes.

I wonder how many hours a day she practices looking in the mirror to get that half-closed eyes posed for photographs. Five, six hours?

That's it to me. They wanted attention and they got it. Paris isn't going to sell any burgers, but Carl's got a lot of publicity out of using her in that ad.

That Bentley is a lot sexier to me than Paris is - though I can think of several other women I'd like to see in that role. But if I'm fantasizing, then the Bentley is mine and...I'm getting distracted.

Those $6 burgers are pretty good, though.

I loved this commercial. It was so funny and I do find her attractive in some weird way.
