UPN Makes Bid For Thursday Night Ratings.

    by fluff
Fans of reality tv -- "UPN Banks on Comedy".

UPN plans to turn Thursday night into comedy night with the eagerly awaited Chris Rock vehicle, “Everybody Hates Chris”, leading off a two-hour block of comedies on the network. “Eve”, “Cuts” and “Love Inc”, staring Shannen Doherty and Holly Robinson-Peete complete the block.

This aggressive move sets UPN apart as the only network to devote two primetime hours to comedy on a night that generally sees CBS scoring highest in the ratings war with their combination of Survivor and CSI.
In addition to the Thursday night comedies, UPN also confirmed the return of nine series, including America’s Next Top Model, Veronica Mars, Eve, One on One, Cuts, All, of Us, Girlfriends and WWE Smackdown.

“All Of Us” will be slotted into the established Monday night lineup of comedies. Generally a strong night for UPN, close consultation with Nielsen showed African-American females were being undercounted, a demographic that would have increased UPN’s Monday night share.
“Sex, Lies and Secrets” starring Denise Richards stands to benefit from following an encore presentation of reality hit, “America’s Next Top Model” on Tuesday nights.
The original weekly showing of “America’s Next Top Model” returns to its regular Wednesday night slot, followed by the new season of popular drama “Veronica Mars”.
