| Re: The Next Food Network Star I'm filing' ya Ellen. Sigh I think they dropped the ball on this season.. in MANY ways. he internet mess, the fact some people went too soon (Kevin) some stay around too long (Nipa), and in the end picking for their winner someone who can't use correct grammer while talking on TV. In watching the 3 clips.. i LOVED Lisa's show.. it was basic, and fun and in 5 min i learned something. Adam's was a wonderful idea, the web-cam was cool!! Aaron's was just average to me. I think he has some nice coking ideas, i give him credit for making something of himsef having come from the 'mean streets' of NJ, and he IS a good guy. I just can't see myself watching him on TV, and sady, mostly because of how he talks.

| Re: The Next Food Network Star I must say that I thought they all did a great job with their pilots. Lisa was fun and approachable and her food looked interesting and easy enough for me to make. I liked the concept of her show and thought she would do well - I'd watch it. Adam seemed very comfortable (Adam wash your hands - with soap.) and the beer chicken was interesting, but I've seen it before on a FN show. He has a good concept, but I forsee many pitfalls in producing it - I think he is smarmy and don't like him - wouldn't watch the show. My sister had the NERVE to call during Aaron's (aka Big Daddy) pilot so I missed most of it. I don't feel that the judges let us in on their thought process in choosing the winner. It was almost as if they had chosen Aaron before the finale. Aaron said that he didn't forsee his win, but his wife and sister did so they must have checked out the FN website while the results were still there. I'm anxious to see how his show turns out and whether they will support him by promoting his show so that I know when it's on. |

| Re: The Next Food Network Star Adam's show idea was dumb, the webcam part and his food style is already being done on the FN, as others have said. He is dorky but not so bad to watch. Aaron is just so fake to me. I do not like him, he tries too hard. I can barely understand him. Ugh!! I would have liked Lisa to win. |

| Re: The Next Food Network Star I thought all the pilots came out well. I think it's wise of the FN to bring out the show next week to keep people's interest. At the end of last season (my first watching this show), I wanted to see Amy's show. By the time it came out months later, I wasn't as motivated and never managed to catch it. |

| Re: The Next Food Network Star Bobby Flay's bias was incredibly obvious. I wonder if he's homophobic? Probably not. But I've never liked him, he's too aggressive and thinks he's much funnier than he really is. |

| Re: The Next Food Network Star Well, I'm relieved to read that I'm not the only one that can't understand Aaron. Hopefully they can get him to slow down when he talks. I missed most of tonights show and just caught the announcement of the winner. Hopefully I can catch the rerun and try to see why he won.

| Re: The Next Food Network Star Put me on the list of those who cringe at poor grammar. I will not watch Aaron's show. I would have loved to see Lisa win; I would watch her, absolutely. I grew to like her and I respect her knowledge. I don't want to tune into the FN and watch a self taught cook. I did that myself; I want to see someone who has been trained and knows more than I do. I do see him as an obvious choice to add more diversity to the line up so in that respect I get it. They had high hopes for Nipa but that didn't work out. Next season I expect to see a diverse group of contestants who have been screened or even recruited more carefully. There is room for both Lisa and Aaron on the FN. Their programing is tired and needs more new blood. I don't like Giada either, Kip. And I will add Rachael Ray, Paula Dean and Semi-Homemade to my ever growing list of yawns. |

| Re: The Next Food Network Star Wow...Food Network really dropped the ball with the "spoiler"...how dumb. I also dislike the way they did not make it clear that this would NOT be a vote in at the end show. Very misleading I am still peeved about the vegas show....Lisa was up in the wine room on scary pulleys, Adam had to sing and dance with others...and Big Daddy...yeah he walked and talked at the same time...what an unfair set up. That show was the real spoiler IMHO. Big Daddy's buffet was really the worst too..except for his crab cakes the food spread looked like Pizza Hut lunch buffet IMHO I do think they are smart to start his show right off...maybe they can give him speech lessons in the meantime?? I figured he had plantains when I saw him slicing them...still don't know what cut of meat he cooked...could not even understand when he stated the menu of his demo show. I have no idea what he cooked, it looked pretty good BUT who can watch what they can't understand to learn new recipes?? I would not watch a show in French or Turkish or some other language either. Pretty disappointing. Design Star lets us vote. Also, Adam's idea of the "internet" is really cool....I don't think the "net" person should be on thru the show, bothering him while he cooks...but it would be great to have some sort of "vote for which recipe" or "ask Adam" to do a particular recipe or solve a problem etc.. Like..."I am having a party for xxx...what could I make that would be easy and different?" or whatever Food Network dropped the ball again here....look at the new show on HGTV "Rate My Space" which is based on internet interaction! Food Network chose to go with the safety/been there/done that winner here. Unless he learns to speak slower and more clearly I think we will have about 6 shows of Big Daddy and then say nexxxxxxxt |

| Re: The Next Food Network Star I am looking forward to watching Big Daddy Aaron's new show. He has the friendliest, most approachable personality. And he cooks good, normal food that people would eat, not disgusting looking fish with eggs on it. |
