After watching last night's episode, I think the mess does bother the kids. I always thought the house was messy not dirty but after what Zack said about the upstairs bathroom, it's dirty, too! Ewww! I agree that the kids need to help with the mess, but it seems to me that the kids were never taught. They need to be taught to hang up their clothes, pick up their belongings and avoid putting things off until it becomes overwhelming. I'm not sure if Amy would be any neater if she were average height. Even if you are 4 feet tall, you should clean your bathrooms! Also, dont you think once she saw that mess on TV, she would be embarrassed and do something about it???

When Matt hired the chef to fix their anniversery dinner, I told my husband that Matt would get a lot further with Amy if he hired a maid. Husband said they needed a WHOLE CLEANING CREW not just one maid!

Matt also hired a professional organizer to help Amy get organized but I see it didnt take!

What I love about Matt's and Amy's relationships is that he accepts her and seems to love her for just who she is...."warts and all". We should all be so fortunate to have a man to accept us the way we are.

Of the three children in my family, my brother and I are the "neatniks" although as I get older the obsession lessens a bit, my sister is the slob. My Mom is very proud of the fact that "her boys can keep house completely from cleaning to cooking to laundry etc." I can't say I ever remember a time when we didn't have to make our beds, take out trash, straighten our rooms etc., I think even though Matt hired an organizer, they put the "tools" in place but Amy wasn't taught how to use them - correction - NO ONE was taught how to use them.

I love the show and if their house is messy, oh well, it is reality TV and I guess that is their reality...

Yeah but seriously? Wow! It's so nasty. The episode tonight when the mom went into to Jer's room and they showed it and the hallway? Even their friends when they were in the van and said how bad it smelled well, I could only imagine from the filth that it did.

Agreed but she seems to love him the same way and I think Matt has way more personality "warts" to overlook than Amy does.

I love this show, they are so much more "normal" than Jon and Kate, well more normal than Kate. There seems to be real love in this family and they're soooo not perfect which I love. But, I agree, they need to do a little cleaning. There is a difference between being "messy" and "dirty". When they were re-doing Jeremy's and Zack's room, they were talking about how Zack used to pee in the corner in the middle of the night cuz he was too lazy to go down the hall to the bathroom. I think the floor was warped due to the moisture, so I can imagine the stench coming out of that room. When boys go through puberty, they sweat and smell.....ewww they stink! But, I love them!

I don't ever remember their house being clean...I just can't stand a dirty house, and would never have company over with my house looking the way theres does all the time...

I just don't see Jermey making it in college...He be better off joining the Air Force or some other hands on training like he mentioned he wanted to do...
