Heh. I love how Doug kept talking about Crying Pam and how this fireplace cover would bring tears of joy. The stain didn't match the armoire, but it was pretty close.
He should have done something to the maroon couch, because it just looks wrong against the green.
I thought that newspaper chair was cool.
They must have insisted the the couch not be touched. It looked out of place before and looks out of place still.

I can't believe the original fireplaces in this episode. Does the builder who built those homes have no pride? They were simply horrible.
Anyway it isn't Doug's best work but it was nice none the less.

I didn't mind this room at all, but that maroon couch does look way out of place...
I agree with regard to the fireplaces, ugh they were appalling.
No style at all. It's not as though they were cheap looking houses, but the fireplace, the natural focal point of the room were horrible.
"That's Numberwang!"
I loved the green colour that he chose for the walls, suits the wood perfectly imo.
I would imagine they did make a stipulation about he sofa, although that probably wouldn't stop Doug anyway
There's not a lot he could have done about it really.
Hilde would have come up with some cheap looking slip cover no doubt.
I think the colour of the couch looks a lot brighter in the photo than it did on the tv.
Aside from the fact I prefer more contemporary looking furniture anyway,I actually don't mind how it looks in the room.
"That's Numberwang!"
Eh, it looks ok, it's just a big red thing in the middle of the room where everything else is green.
I thought this was a good room, though.
I think I was struck by how much I liked the green colour he used and how nicely he had made over the fireplace.
The couch just didn't look as bright on the show as it does in this photo so I guess that's why it didn't really bother me at the time.
I liked the newspaper chair too.

Hilde would have spray-painted it orange or stapled a million rubber duckies on it or something.Originally posted by fluff
