I watched it, thought it was great. I missed the "double dip"...:nono BUT watching these shows....I have to say I was exhausted by the time they were all done cooking AND I was sitting the whole time.... ALL that running and running by the chefs.

Yes, about 50 pounds. I read an article somewhere (TV Guide? Entertainment Weekly? Some other rag?) about his seeing himself on TV at his fattest, didn't like what he saw, and decided to do something about it and get healthy.

There was a new episode on tonight and Batali has been dropped from the Iron Chef's intros. Garces wasn't introduced as one yet, I think that is coming next week.

Why was he dropped? He was just on the special White House battle thing, so this is surprising for me. Anyone know what's going on?

Has everyone heard that in the White House battle, the Iron Chef's did not actually use the vegies picked in the White House garden? Those were "stunt doubles"! They are calling it "garden-gate"!

You don't "drop" the likes of Mario Batali.

If he's going to be gone from the show, it would have been his call, be assured of that. Either for financial (I doubt he works cheap and maybe they can no longer meet his asking price) or time reasons (he's kind of a busy guy, and may be getting tired of the show anyway).

Is anyone watching this tonight? Besides me, that is :-)

    - Only 3 chefs were introduced at the beginning (Flay, Symon, Morimoto)
    - The challenger started out by himself, so Symon kicked out his sous chefs.

    It's a bit intense :-)
