CBS ORDERS "CUPID," A NEW DATING/RELATIONSHIP/JUDGMENT SHOW
FOR BROADCAST THIS SUMMER
The 11-Episode Series Will Be Created and Executive Produced
By Simon Cowell ("American Idol")
CBS has ordered CUPID, a new dating/relationship/judgment show for broadcast over 11-episodes this summer.
Simon Cowell ("American Idol") will create and executive produce the series, which features a single woman looking for love. The woman, with the assistance of two of her best friends, will scour the country, auditioning approximately 100 eligible bachelors who will have 30-40 seconds to impress her enough to warrant a date.
CUPID's initial episodes will feature highlights of the audition process, when the field of 100 is narrowed to 10 or 12 men. The two friends will offer their opinions on which guys make the cut. Subsequent weeks will feature highlights of each date and the reaction of the girlfriends, all played before a studio audience.
Viewers will then vote to determine which of the bachelors move on. The winner will get a cash prize and the chance for a long-term relationship.
CUPID is produced by Cowell's S Entertainment in association with Fremantle Media. Cowell is executive producer.
