    Mississippi - Winsmere Way : Hilde's room

Hilde decided to upholster the walls again.
I quite like the outcome of this room but I couldn't live with it.

I prefer the drabness of the before to the dizziness of the after. I could handle one of the walls in this patern(especially if it were just the wall above the bed) but not all. This room is just too much of the same pattern. She should have gone with a coordinating stripe or some simpler version of this pattern. The room is overall too busy and dizzying as a result. Poopoo AGAIN Hilde!

    I hate it.
I hate upholstered walls period. The thought of the dust makes me sneeze and I don't have allergies.
The fabric was, in my opinion, butt ugly!

I quite liked the fabric, but not on that scale.
It would be nice for a couple of throw pillows against a more neutral background, but all the walls and all the drapes in that fabric was too much for me.

She could have done a bunch of things to make that room better. More white, for one. Like white drapes and white linens on the bed to make it lighter. And made the shadow boxes the same size.

And hee. Did anyone else catch Hildie saying she doesn't want a "big, hot, red unit" in the bedroom?

Maybe it was a big red hot unit. Whatever. Bwahaha.

It sort of looks like a Chinese restaraunt exploded in there.

Can anyone remember Laurie redoing a dining room in the first series (I think) where she put panels of fabric on the walls and trimmed them with picture frame moulding?
The overall scheme of that room was yellow and pink.

I think Hilde could have done the same thing here to add some interest to the walls and bring the fabric into another area rather than blanket coverage of the entire walls.

Hildie's done this so many times though. How are five zillion staple holes better than wallpaper, Hildibeast?

She could if she was sane.

You know, Hildie did a really nice job with that ugly couch, recovering it. If she were sane, she would be a really good designer.

Unfortunately she uses her powers for evil, instead of good.

Fabric walls again. Oh Hilde we know you have never done your own cleaning.
The fabric was nice, but she didn't need to import so much of it 'all the way from Paris' . Yes Hilde we know you live in Paris and the rest of us peasants know nothing of design.I've been to Paris and don't recall any rooms with everything in the room all the same color , so don't tell us it's the French inspiration.
Not as out and out horrible as the Tiffany box room, the other monochromatic room .
