LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - A documentary series focusing on U.S. military personnel overseas is still looking for a home on ABC's schedule."Profiles from the Front Line," produced by the "Amazing Race" team of Bertram Van Munster and Jerry Bruckheimer, recently had its order cut from 13 to six episodes. Several of those episodes are ready to air, but ABC is still considering where to put them."We're trying to figure out strategically when it's best to place the show, and that depends on a lot of things," Andrea Wong, head of alternative series and specials for the network, tells The Hollywood Reporter. In addition to its own needs, ABC has to be sensitive to events in the world. Most of the footage for "Profiles" was shot in the spring and summer and features soldiers stationed in Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world. Bruckheimer and Van Munster received the Pentagon's blessing to shoot the series. That official sanction drew some complaints from journalists who claimed the crews for an entertainment series were getting access that newspeople weren't. The Pentagon says that it offered mostly technical advice and didn't influence content. Wong says the order for the series was trimmed so ABC could present the most compelling stories in a concentrated period of time. "Profiles" will likely air sometime later this season.
Hope ABC finds a time slot for it and air it soon. Sounds pretty interesting. It's right up my alley, so I would definitely watch it.
