June 12, 2004 -- A woman has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the production company and talent agency behind ABC's hit series "Extreme Makeover," claiming they ripped off her idea.
Diane Locke filed the suit filed in L.A. Superior Court against Endeavor Agency, which packaged "Makeover"; Lighthearted Entertainment, which produces the series; and Endeavor agent Sean Perry and Lighthearted's Howard Schultz.
Locke claims that she pitched a producer with ties to Perry and Schultz on a concept similar to "Makeover" but was rebuffed. She accused the defendants of stealing her idea and setting it up as a series at ABC without compensating her. — The Hollywood Reporter
