LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- In the latest adjustment to its summer schedule, ABC has announced it has delayed the launch of its new reality series "The Two Timer." In addition, the Alphabet is begin burning off the remaining completed installments of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"
"Two Timer," which comes from "The Bachelor" guru Mike Fleiss, is an unscripted comedy a la "The Simple Life" about the dating exploits of a 26-year-old self-described "ultimate player." The project was originally slated to premiere on Wednesday, June 23 at 9:00/8:00c. No new lauch date was given.
"We really wanted Telepictures to take their time with the editing process and we didn't want to have to rush it on the air," an ABC spokeswoman told Daily Variety. "By moving the premiere date, we'll have plenty of time to give this show the launch it deserves."
As for "Whose Line," more than a dozen or so episodes of the series are believed to be sitting on the shelf since being removed from the schedule last summer. New installments are set to kick off Thursday, June 24 at 8:00/7:00c with additional repeats slated to air at 8:30/7:30c that same night.
Fellow hiatused series "Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital" also returns to the ABC lineup that night at 9:00/8:00c.
too bad. i mean, i'm glad they aren't rushing it so the show will be better, but i was looking forward to a summer airdate.
