Contestant search begins for horse racing reality show
The Game Show Network has begun searching the country for horse racing fans to serve as contestants for its reality series titled "The American Dream Derby" in which six contestants will claim one Thoroughbred each and race them throughout a season of seven weekly episodes.
The series will culminate with a live GSN telecast of the six horse race finale and one winner receiving cash prizes and all six of the featured horses.
Contestant applications will be available on May 1 at Midnight ET on http://www.GSN.com
. All interested applicants should download the application, fill it out and mail it to GSN by July 14, 2004.
Applicants can also appear in person, at their own cost and expense, at one of the live casting events, which will occur this summer at racetracks across the country. In addition to mailing in the application, applicants may also send in an optional photo of themselves and videotape answering why they believe they should be a contestant on the show. All applicants must be at least 21-years-old and comply with the other rules and regulations on the application.
The chosen contestants will be paired with trainers who will guide them through each process of the show from selecting their horses and jockeys to designing training schedules and providing racing techniques. Contestants must be available for several weeks during the fall of 2004 and winter 2005 in California.
