ABC producing "I'm a Rich Kid... Get Me Out Of Here!"

Rich kid version of I'm A Celebrity

A US version of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! featuring the children of the rich and famous is being made.

Contestants on I'm A Rich Kid... Get Me Out Of Here! will swap their pampered lives for the hardships of the Australian jungle.

It follows the success of reality show The Simple Life, in which hotel heiress Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, daughter of singer Lionel, rough it as Arkansas farmhands.

The pair will be high on the list of possible contestants for I'm A Rich Kid.

Other celebrity offspring who could take part include Kelly and Jack Osbourne, Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberley, Ally Hilfiger, daughter of designer Tommy, and billionaire Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka.

ABC has commissioned 10 episodes from ITV's American production arm, Granada America, to be aired in September.

ABC executive Andrea Wong said: "They're definitely going to be testing both their physical and mental abilities. It's going to give them a chance to prove that they're different than people's preconceived notions of rich kids."

A US version of I'm A Celebrity was aired in the US last year but flopped with viewers. J-Lo's ex-husband Cris Judd was the winner.

Ms Wong said the rich kids twist had the makings of a ratings hit.

"This puts an interesting perspective on the format," she said. "When you look at the success of the British format, we thought we should give it another try."

    Knowing me, I'll probably at least give it a look-see . . .

But after checking out Paris and Nicole in the Simple Life, I really don't know how long I'll last with this one.

oh my goodness... I just don't know what to think... having been sucked in to the original, as well as The Simple Life, I can honestly say that I would be surprised if I don't get hooked to this one, but I can almost guarantee everyone that my favorite character on the show will be the animal that tries to eat them all up.

My sentiments exactly. If Kelly and Jack are really on this show the "bleep" guy will be working overtime.
