| Woo Hoo, we have a winner ~ House Of Dreams Finale. Well here it is, the final recrap of House Of Dreams. I honestly have to say that I didn’t think it would ever arrive. Did I enjoy recapping? Yes, anytime I get to make fun of people who appear on a reality TV show, and win great prizes that I don’t have a shot at… well, heck, it’s just fun. For the record, I didn’t title this “Woo Hoo” because I Particularly like the out come, I’m just glad it’s over. So, I shall begin this time, by letting you know, that this will actually be a pretty short recap. The first 15 minutes of the show are George telling us how it all worked. He shows us clips of all the people who have been evicted. We get clips of Flor and Jim in bed. Yeah, same old same old. I’m skipping it all, and starting where, in my opinion, the episode actually begins. Mike and Viv are wearing red hats and are talking with George by the house. We get introduced to the jury and get to hear a few thoughts: Sherrill wants the person who wins it to live in it. Tony was surprised to see that it was Viv and Mike in the finals and didn’t know who to vote for. Matt feels that Viv slipped under the radar the entire time. Flor is happy that she will be able to say whatever she wants now that she is on the jury Naomi wants to be pissed, but is too busy feeling like a fool. They all get to hang out together in the house and have a big ol’ Bar-B-Que. There’s lots of laughing and chatting, and I suppose a few last ditch efforts by Mike and Viv to secure a vote or two. Mike apologizes to Naomi who is still holding a grudge. I’m fine with that, as it’s only been a couple days… heck, perhaps just one day. He screwed her, and she’s allowed this time of anger in my opinion. For some reason Viv is crying because Matt told her he was playing from day one. I’m not sure why this upsets her so much, but she feels like she’s let her family down. What the hell is she talking about? ]I]She[/i] is in the final two. Matt isn’t. This is not the last time I will be dumbfounded by something that Viv says. The party is over, and we fast forward to the next day. Joe has gathered them all at the house, and to add insult to injury the jury gets to help Mike and Viv move all the furniture into the house. Man, that’s so wrong on so many levels. All cakes need icing, and the icing here is that whoever wins also gets a 65 inch HDTV television. (Hmmm, the TV in HDTV.. that is television… did I need to add the word Television? It looked odd to leave it at them winning an HDTV. Whatever) As we get some more shots of the finished house with all it’s furnishings, we get to hear some more thoughts from the jury. Naomi thinks Mike will only party in the house. Flor wants to make them cry. Sherrill wants the winner to live there. Matt is excited to be able to play a part in the destiny of the house. Matt is easily excited. I admit to fast forwarding through the commercials, but I think I was careful to catch all of the show, yet I didn’t see Tony saying anything. Sorry if I missed it. At Jury Pier for the last time, the two red hats get a chance to speak. Viv: I know Flor hates both of us and Naomi loves both of us. I want to live in the house for 6 months to a year as a creative retreat. After that I just don’t know. You all have a house to give away and all I can do is ask for that gift. Any Questions? Flor: You always voted against me, why should I vote for you now? Viv: The criteria I used for playing is different than the criteria I would use on the jury, so I don’t know what to say. WHAT? Tony: Maybe I misunderstood, but are you only going to live here for 6 months to a year? Viv: Just a minimum of that time. I really don’t know. Matt: Where do you see yourself in 5 years then? Viv: I’ve been blindsided to feel this responsibility for a house. I don’t know. WHAT? Mike is up next. Mike: We all came here to play a game, to win a house. You all have already helped me grow so much as an individual, and now have the opportunity to change my life forever. I’d love to live here as long as I’m standing. I want to be able to raise kids here. It is a beautiful house, a house of dreams and you have the chance to make it my house of dreams, but no matter what, it will always be our house of dreams. At our house, the door is always open. God bless you all. Thanks so much. Any questions? Tony: I’m proud of you man, you’ve come a long way. Right now who would live in the house with you? Mike: I really want a family. Being with you guys made me see things differently. I don’t have a family yet, but I see some people here who could fill a few seats. Flor: In playing the game, did you ever lie? (Way to make them cry Flor) Mike: I said something to someone very special. I told that person it would be the two of us in the end, so yes, I did lie and I’m ashamed. Then Mike thanks them ALL for their very honest questions. I assume that the other questions were even more boring than the ones they aired. George sends them away then asks the jury why Mike deserves the house. Flor: Why not? Tony: He played the game really well so, yeah… why not? Matt: I don’t think he played well at all. I think we all played the game for him There’s more talking. George asks Sherrill if he approves of Naomi saying she’d only live here for a while. Sherrill does AND doesn’t approve. Naomi mentions that she thinks Mike will wind up selling the house, as it’s a little isolated. I think Naomi fails to realize that people who party hard, don’t mind a little isolation. Matt says mike is too young and just giving him the house could do more harm than good. He figures Mike will never grow up if he’s handed the keys. George calls for a vote. Mike and Viv return to hear Flor give out the verdict. It’s with great pleasure… yada yada, We give the house to Enter looooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oong dramatic pause Longer Longer Longer VIV! Yeah, Viv is shocked, and after hearing her jury speech and answers to the questions, I have to say I am shocked too. Mike gets 20 grand form Lendingtree.com and I can’t help but wish I could ask Matt if he thinks that will help Mike grow up. Some how I think not. So there you have it. The juggler from New York, who wants to live in the house for a short time, wins over our resident party guy. Congratulations to Viv, and a heartfelt “I’m Sorry” to Mike.

| I can almost guarantee that Mike would have lived in that house a lot longer than Viv. I can't understand how they could vote for someone who obviously really doesn't care about the house all that much. Just goes to show you that brain dead people get their 15 minutes of fame too. Great recapping Cali, you kept me up to date on the shows when I missed them.

| Ya know, I almost think Viv would rather have the $20,000 and no responsibility than the house.

| The whole ending was a big ole fat "letdown" imo. Viv gets the house...wtf!??! Ok. I've been thinking this for a long time now, and I'm typically NOT one of those people who'll go on about how producer manipulation or creative editting has effected stuff.. But honestly, I really feel as if the show had it predetermined who'll be the final two standing. I think they had the door rigged to open for whomever they wanted it to open for, and who they didn't want it to open for. The whole "door step" was huge that the red door was on, and I'll bet they had it wired underneath so that all they had to do was hit a switch (or whatever) from a distance to have it open. None of the keys were different. Ah well.. I'll always think it was rigged. I hope they have another HoD with better people, all of these people were pretty boring imo. Also, get rid of George..nothing personally against him, but really...someone with more "OOooomph" for dramatics at least.

| I cannot believe that they gave it to CircuGirl ... she admitted only looking 6 months ahead (and hubby mentioned that he thinks it's in the contract for that amount). I think what happened is that Mike hacked off too many of them. They were looking for any excuse to not vote for him, and the whole "if a young man gets a house handed to him at too early an age, it will scar him for life ... we can't be responsible for that." Right. Just admit that he played better than you, and was 'luckier' than you in not getting bad keys until the end. Great recap, thanks !!

| I didn't much like Vivica for being so lacking in opinion, and I thought she was playing the game by playing as a non-threatening outsider to both factions. And, with her ivy league education, it seems that she could work for a few years to buy a house if having a house was important to her. Mike has fewer job prospects. I don't blame Mike for picking a chance at the house over Naomi, who would have easily defeated Mike. Mike getting the house would have only been slightly better than Vivica getting it though. Of course, I prefered Vivica to Flor, Jim, Matt, Tony and Sherill. John, Naomi and Rochelle would have been my preferreds. The show was a let-down, but reality tv often is (see, e.g., Survivor All-stars). |

I don't know if this was a typo or intentional; either way it is hysterical. Great job on the 'recrap' ![]() I couldn't believe it when Viv the circus girl won the house. She isn't even planning to live there more than 6 mos; that doesn't seem right. Someone needs to tell her it is not attractive to have 15 pigtails in your head I guess it could have been worse, Flor could have gotten the house ![]() | |
