| Hello A&E… I Know You’re Reading ~ House Of Dreams Episode 9 OK, I called this the episode 9 recap, but honestly, it could be the tenth episode. I just don't know. Regardless, I hope you enjoy: I wont swear to it, but I’m pretty sure that sometime, in some thread I suggested that House Of Dreams get rid of two people at a time in order to speed up the series. I know that this show was filmed a while ago. I know that all those involved with the show already know the winner, and if not they at least know the final two players up for winning the house. Still, I think that the powers that be at A&E are reading my posts and doing everything they can to keep me happy. If that’s the case, just give the house to Mike now. Yeah, he’s a party boy, but I swear, of those that are left, he’s the only one I’d like to see win it. Sooooo, we open this week with Jim telling us that Mike abuses people and that no one likes him. If he hadn’t actually named Mike, I’d have thought Jim was looking in a mirror, and talking about himself. Mike tells us that Jim has never confronted him about anything and calls Jim a pathetic guy who is “Banging some chick with a wife at home”. At the construction site the crew learns that they will be painting the interior of the house. There are two teams. One team will work up stairs while the other team works down stairs. They’ve picked some truly neutral colors, which do nothing, in my opinion, to liven up the house. Muted shades of tan abound. Mike is really hoping, along with a great number of viewers, that both Flor and Jim pick the bad keys and become red hats. I think he’s forgotten that since Flor escaped eviction, again, last week, that she gets a free pass, and there is NO WAY she can become a red hat again this week. The painting is finished, and we get to the key ceremony pretty early. Of course Flor goes through and waits to see what will happen with her boyfriend. Matt draws first and makes it through, followed closely by Tony. Sherrill tries his key, and gets a red hat when the door won’t open. Mike and Viv make it through and Naomi is next. We see Mike on the other side praying that she makes it through. Unfortunately God is busy, or perhaps just doesn’t give a crap about what happens on a reality TV show. I actually assume it’s both. Naomi gets the other red hat and she and Sherrill have to hang out with George while the others go back to camp. George tells them about the twist. Whoever gets voted out this week gets to take a member of the Jury with them. HA! I knew they were reading my posts here. I have never seen any “Red Hats” so happy. Back at camp Jim tells us that although he knows drawing the right key is luck, he still feels a sense of accomplishment. I roll my eyes. For some unknown reason Sherrill and Naomi go back to camp and decide NOT to tell the crew about the twist until later on in the evening. Once told Mike is ecstatic. Flor and Jim on the other hand look as though they’ve been punched in the throat. Jim figures he and Flor are screwing. Er… I mean screwed. He thinks that Naomi would opt to take Flor, and Sherrill would choose Jim. Mike admits that he isn’t totally safe, but still loves the twist. He talks about the two times that Sherrill has totally screwed him, and knows he has to lay low around “Grandpa” in order to have a chance to stay in the game. We hear a little more background on Sherrill. He has known he was gay forever, but back in the day it was expected that he would marry and settle down. He did just that and was married to a wonderful woman for 39 years. They had kids and lived a “normal” life. In 1995 after the kids were grown, his wife died, and he realized he had to move on and live his life. Back on the jobsite Joe explains that the days task is to lay tile in the foyer and the bathroom. To be honest with you it looks as if the job is ¾ of the way finished when they begin. Mike is on Sherrill’s team, and although he knows they are doing it wrong, he also knows that if he tells Sherrill, it will just tick Sherrill off. He keeps his mouth shut, knwing that Joe will come along and tell them that they need to pull the tile, as they are working their way into a closet. All those years Sherrill spent in there, and he tries to work his way back. Poor guy. They get the work done and go back to camp. Flor is busy trying to talk Jim into deadlocking the jury. If that were to happen Naomi and Sherrill would have to choose a jury member to go, but that person could then pick anyone, including Naomi or Sherrill to go with them. Jim is not convinced. We get little clips of others saying they think it would be horrible to purposely deadlock the jury. Sherrill and Naomi realize it is a possibility, and are trying to figure out who would be the best person to choose. They agree that they would have to choose Viv or Matt because they are the only ones that wouldn’t choose Naomi or Sherrill to go with them. A&E really is trying to speed things up, as for the first time that I can remember, there is a “DAY Three” at the construction site. The crew needs to grout the tile, clean up all the debris and choose dining room furniture. Looks to me that Sherrill is the only one grouting, and the others are all cleaning up. They seem to gloss over the entire choosing of the furniture bit and Naomi’s choice wins. I guess it’s nice, but honestly the entire process took about 3 minutes. For the first time ever, everyone has to pack for eviction. They all seem to be a bit freaked out. Even Mike, who although still happier than he’s been in a long time, is worried about what could happen. On eviction Pier we get to hear the speeches from both Naomi and Sherrill. Naomi is up first. Remember please that I am paraphrasing: Naomi “Um… I’m supposed to tell why I deserve the house, but I can’t. I can tell you what it means to me though. I love it. It will never be my house, it will always be our house. I will love and cherish it.” Sherrill “I want the house as it will mean a lot to me. My other house died on me when the kids moved out and my wife died. This house has given me renewed hope. If I do leave, I will hold my head high and think of all of you. Good luck” Off they go while the jury deliberates. Tony says he’s voting for Sherrill to stay and Viv agrees with him. Flor on the other hand, loves Sherrill, but thinks she has a better chance if Naomi stays. George calls for a vote and a few hands go up wanting Naomi to stay. Jim sees that the vote is uneven, so he raises his hand. When he does that Viv’s hand goes down. Then another hand goes up and I feel like playing whack-a-mole. George decides to treat this like Kindergarten and tells the jury they have to close their eyes to vote. He then asks who wants Naomi to stay. Three hands go up. Jim falters then a few seconds later puts his hand up meaning Naomi wins and gets to stay. They two red hats return and Flor gets to deliver the news that Sherrill is leaving. After telling them that he wants someone who will take care of the house to win it, he chooses Jim to go with him. Mike smiles. Flor cries. Flor tells Sherrill she thinks he has made a mistake, he assures her that he doesn’t think so. In the boat, Sherrill is happy with his five grand from lendingtree.com, but Jim is too busy seething about losing his squeeze… or the house… or about having to go face his wife, I’m not sure, but I don’t think I care anyway.

| Thanks for the recap. Great work! I was thrilled with red hats revenge. It was a great twist. I was glad to see Sherill go, and to take Jim with him. I was thinking how little I like any of the people that are left to have the house, and Mike (or Naomi) appear to be the lesser evils. I did like John and Rochelle. I guess I am drawn to people who aren't constantly game-playing with little integrity. |

| I taped this episode, and plan to watch this all over again ... and laugh and laugh and laugh -okay, you get the idea- at Jim's sulkiness in the boat with Sherril. Still hate what Sherril did in the past, but he may have redeemed himself here, especially since (and this is the best part!) Jim CANNOT BE ON THE JURY!!! Edited to add: Great recap!! lol I'm a little scatterbrained.
