    Alton, hands down!

Next would have to be Mario, as I said.. he just strikes me as a happy fat man who likes food. hehe

    Re: Food Network

Although it's a "have met" instead of a "would like to meet", I wanted to say that I met Paula Deen about 5 years ago, at an event that had nothing to do with cooking or Food Network, and I just loved that woman to death! I was born and raised a Southerner with the old South ways and Paula Deen was like coming home to family. Just a happy, twittering, mothering Southern lady who called everyone darlin', had a great sense of southern humor, enjoyed gossiping with all the little one-liners that only southern women can do so well, and was constantly swapping food tips and recipes with people, getting as much as giving. And it never stopped, even in the buffet line we went through, which she was no shrinking violet to. Some schmuck thought she was being cute and looking at Paula's loaded buffet plate, asked her if she wasn't worried about adding pounds since she's on tv so much. Paula's reply was (gotta have the southern accent going to appreciate the comment) "Darlin', life's too short not to enjoy good cooking. If I get bigger, well, they're just gonna have to add a few more cameras to the studio, don't ya think?" And then she went over and hugged the girl who asked it and everyone laughed.

Paula Deen is truly like she appears on tv, and someone that's just fun to be around. If you've ever been to an old southern summer community or church picnic, you'll recognize her type immediately. Someone everyone should have a memory from childhood of

Does anybody recall that Nigella's show was first called "Nigella Bites"? As anyone with a teen can tell you, that's not a good way to start out, as in our vernacular is equivalent to Nigella really stinks. I think that is funny. I like her a lot though. I like how she cooks for one. When cooking it is often hard to pare down recipes when it says "serves 8". I don't want to eat this stuff for the next month, and a lot of this stuff my son won't eat.

As I think I said before you should try Ellie's show.

Does Cat Cora appear on anything other than Iron Chef? She was the Grill Friday guest on LIVE this morning.

I have seen her on another FoodNetwork show, Kitchen Accomplished, where a team comes in to a house and that family gets a kitchen makeover! They have a crew gut it out, put in new cabinets (or sometimes they just refinish them), new floors, appliances and kitchenware, etc.

Cat usually teaches the homeowner how to make some dishes and takes the homeowner out shopping for the appliances and kitchenware.

Yes, I've seen Cat in Kitchen Accomplished, and I liked her in that show. I like the show itself, because I love seeing kitchen remodels. And although I find her pretty boring in Iron Chef, I do like Cat better in this show. She's not what you'd all animated, but she does show more personality and humor, and some great insight into what helps make a great kitchen.

I'd like to meet Mario Batali and Paula Deen. I'm glad to see that at least one other person on here likes Mario!

I just flipped on Paula's Party and she has Peter Brady, Chris Knight, on there!! I wish I had the chance to see this one from the beginning. Her cutie pie son Bobby is on there too.

    Re: Food Network

How do you find Food Network threads around here? I like reading about the Food Network and also the Next Food Network Star. But if one of them doesn't show up on the front page where someone's made the most recent post, I can't seem to find it! Sorry if this is considered off subject, but please someone HELP!
