I'm sorry about that, Eboughey. I'm sure it must be tough to get so close, only to find out you haven't been accepted. Make sure you give yourself enough time to recover and, yes, grieve your loss. It's okay, and we're all here for you when you need someone to listen.

You'll be fine! You were just too good-looking for the show!

I'm not sure of all the reasons I didn't qualify, but there were a lot of factors I needed to pass through. Nothing personal disqualified me though I was told. I only got the phone call because the lady I've been speaking to and I hit it off and she was the one who pitched me. They don't normally call at all unless you qualify.

For those of you who aren't familiar, I had applied because I have wanted a breast reduction for many years. They cause a lot of back and shoulder pain, but my insurance company won't cover it. I can't be very active which is terrible for me having a 6 year old daughter.

Anyway, thanks so much for all of your support everyone. I appreciated it very much.
Maybe you didn't qualify because all you wanted was a breast reduction and didn't really need/want anything else. They usually alter you dramatically, not just one aspect of your body.

Exactly! If a guy had nuts that were huge & hanging to his knees, I'm sure the ins. co would cover it!

And it's also really disturbing that a lot of insurance companies that don't cover birth control pills WILL cover Viagra.

I applied and never heard a word. I hate my nose but I guess they did not hate it as much as I do.

I spent time making the video and had half the people where I work doing the same and none of us here a word.

Well we had fun trying and maybe next time I will do a video crying my heart out tht nobody loves me - that might work.

I'm sorry you didn't get chosen eboughey. But my mother had a breast reduction about 10 yrs ago and it was covered on her insurance. She was telling her doctor how much she'd like to have it done. He said "Youve been haveing back and neck problems right?" she said "No not really." and he looked intently at her and said "Kathy. Youve been haveing back and neck pain right?" She caught on and said "Oh yes. A lot of pain." So her insurance covered it. If your doctor is telling you your insurance won't cover it make sure he understands you want it done not as cosmetic surgery but because of the medical problems it's causing you.

It's the insurance company that says no to all forms of breast surgery. It really stinks. There are clauses in my insurance that exclude anything of this sort...

I wish I could have gotten on the show just for the reduction and a great exercise program. I wonder what it's like to be active? I haven't been able to for many many years now.

Thanks for letting me know about your mom's experience. Maybe one day I'll get different insurance that will take care of it.

If you send in a sob story you'll find yourself in the reject box for the second time. Try showing your personality, have fun. That's what they're looking for. Don't be nervous, just have fun.

I agree. They are looking for people who above all, have great personalities. Someone to draw in the audience with charisma.

I drew mostly on my 'mommy body' cause it sure wasn't like this before I had kids!
