This room screams Laurie, but I do rather like it.
I can't live with vibrant colour personally, but I think she does pretty well when she works in this colour palette.

Wow...Laurie used something other than a shade of green or yellow on the walls!

    I liked this room.

Yep, I rather liked it too.
I think the colour looked a bit fierce at first, but the large white bookcases took a lot of the "sting" out of the colour.

This room is the clear winner of the pair....the dark red almost works with all the colors....and I love the simple box shelves.....they fit the space perfectly.....small concern about pillow fabric....but the owner can get rid of them.....the rest works perfectly......I liked this room

The problem I find with Laurie, is that she just spends too much on fabric.
The pillow fabric alone can often account for 10-15% of her budget, which I think is ridiculous.

I have seen shows where she could have slip covered an entre couch for less than she paid on fabric for a couple of pillows.

I agree about the box shelves, they are a really nice element in the room.

If she spent 15% of the budget on those pillows...thats not good....they dont work and the home owner needs to replace them....having pillows of one or the other colors already in the room would have done much better....white or pure gold...not expensive but the right look

I must say I like the room a lot. That is quite the exact color I have been thinking about painting our bedroom with.
ps. This is just my opinion in the matter.
