| Star Dates: The EG Daily Dates - I Dated Pee Wee Herman Once I Dated Pee Wee Herman Once Star Dates Featuring: E.G. Daily Star Dates’ premise is to combine Blind Date, Elimidate, Disgusting Date, and any other dating show you can think of. The twist here is to set up dates between a B list actor and a normal (read: not famous, but probably trying to be) citizen. The “Celebrity” E. G. Daily is this week’s Star Date. Who is she, and why is she on Star Dates you ask? Well, I guarantee you that E.G. is actually someone you have seen quite often in movies, TV, and perhaps even on a CD now and again. Have you ever seen the classic movie Valley Girl? She played Loyrn in that film, and she was the gal that Nicolas Gage just had to be with. Doesn’t ring a bell? How about the cult classic, and still John Cusack’s best film, Better Off Dead? E.G. was the bobbing singer who sang the movie’s theme song at the prom while wearing an incredibly silly outfit. By the way, if you have never seen Better Off Dead, run, don’t walk, to your local video store. It is one of the funniest movies ever made. Back to E.G. Still don’t remember her? Tough crowd here. She was also Dottie, the girlfriend, in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. If you have kids, maybe you know her from the Rugrats, where she does the voice for Tommy Pickles. Or perhaps The Powerpuff Girls where she is known as Buttercup. She was also the voice for the title character in Babe, Pig in the City, in addition to providing one of the voices for Lorenzo in the critically acclaimed Lorenzo’s Oil. The truth is, for someone who is relatively obscure in the entertainment industry, E.G. is probably the most successful of any Star Date outside of Phyllis Diller. She has over 80 movie and TV credits, and not just in comedy or children’s shows. In addition to live acting, and an impressive array of voice over work, ranging from [i]Starship Troopers[i] to the voice of Bam Bam in The Flintstones, E.G. is also a singer. She has three full albums, including the 1999 LP Tearing Down the Walls, as well as performances on seven movie soundtracks, such as Scarface and The Breakfast Club. E.G. reads like a pretty diverse person. Now 39, active in the animal rights movement, and a mother of two daughters, she is ready for her Star Date. I was anxious to see how she would fare with Reggie and a date, and she did not disappoint. The “Normal” Folks Paul is originally from Houston. He is an Insurance Salesman who likes to mountain bike, and used to sell something called Hooka’s. Say that out loud and what comes to mind? He describes most of his dating experience as “Boogie Nights”. Okay then… Tim comes to us from Madison, Wisconsin. He is in the LA area now, and is a Recovery Counselor. Yeah, I am guessing that he helps people overcome addictions, but with a job title like that he could easily work with gymnasts or something. His claim to fame is that everyone says he looks like Rick Springfield. Hopefully it is the younger, General Hospital Rick, and not the older, stumbling around on stage Rick. Date #1 – Paul The first thing that stands out about E.G. is that she likes to show off her stomach. She goes through about seven wardrobe changes in this show, and most of them leave little to the imagination. I am not complaining at all mind you. E.G. is a hottie. She can wear whatever she wants, I will be standing here applauding. I just needed that recorded for the official record, because on Star Dates, it is all about professionalism. My recaps need to reflect that same high level of dedication. On the drive over to Paul’s place, EG is reading up on her date. She likes that he says he is a cross between James Bond and Jim Carey. She expects that he will be the type who wears cowboy boots, a button down shirt, and Wranglers. Well, it’s isn’t going to workout that way. Paul is very “socal” Meanwhile, Paul learns that E.G. will be his date. He recognizes her immediately, and knows that she sings. He is excited to meet her. In the car ride to their first event E.G. wants to know about this “hooka sales” background that Paul has. He says that hooka’s are a Turkish waterpipe. That doesn’t really clear anything up for me, but it sounds vaguely like drug paraphernalia, so let’s just leave it at that. They arrive at a rose garden and go for a walk. Paul is asks about E.G.’s background, and she tells him that she grew up in “Hollyweird”, but now has two daughters. Paul is surprised. E.G. says that she is not opposed to having move kids someday, but that isn’t an invitation to Paul. During the walk, Paul gives her a rose that cut from one of the many championship level rose bushes in the park. Nice… the police will be picking you up shortly Paul. Here in my hometown of Portland, they shoot people for that. The conversation is dying out between them, and E.G. starts to get bored as they drive to dinner. E.G. says that Paul is a “beautiful” man, and fun to look at, but she suspects that the subject is boring. Wow, she doesn’t hold back. In fairness to Paul, he seemed less interested after learning of E.G.’s daughters. He respects her for being a good mom, but he appears to be the type that wants his own kids on his own terms. The conversation is forced throughout dinner and drinks. About halfway through E.G. asks him if he minds her calling to say goodnight to her kids. He doesn’t. There is nothing going on here, and the date ends with a friendly hug. In the car driving away, E.G. says that Paul has a beautiful spirit, but when pressed by Reggie as to if she would go out with him again, she says firmly “No!” Hmmm, hopefully date number two holds more promise. Date#2 – Tim Back in Escalade, E.G. is fired up for day two, and still optimistic. The Star Dates producers have yet to miss on a match. Surely this would not be the first strike out would it? Tim gets a copy of E.G.’s headshot from Reggie, and also remembers who she is. They meet. Tim: “Look! A small girl!” E.G.: “He really does look like Rick Springfield.” During the drive to their first event, Tim plays the astrology card and scores. She is a Virgo, which is what his mom is. Meanwhile, his sign of Aquarius just happens to be the same as E.G. two significant relationships in life. Let’s all sigh together… I am jealous of all these people who have normal signs and stuff. Seems like the signs of people I meet are things like recovering-psycho, still-hung-up-on-the-ex-jerk, and of course, gold-digger. Meanwhile, all these other people actually have signs that seem to indicate good qualities. Who knew? These two, in stark contrast to the last date, get along immediately and continuously. They both love to joke around, make crazy faces, and funny noises. E.G. asks Tim about one aspect of his bio, that being that he once had sex at college under pine trees in between classes. She wants to know if he had any problems with “pokey pine pins in your bum.” Tim sees the opening, and retorts with the obvious comeback, “Oh there was pokey all right…” She loves his sense of humor. They go rollerblading, and then something called surf skating, which looked like a lot of fun. During most of this scene E.G. sings (and we see cut ins of her on stage). It was a pretty good piece of editing considering her career. The date continues to go well at dinner. They go to a German restaurant, and the mood strikes them both to talk in cheesy accents. I think Reggie summed it up best when he said he had no idea what they were saying, but it was funny. E.G. tells him that she has been laughing so hard throughout the date that now her larynx hurts. Well these two can’t let a comment like that go by without a joke or seven. The next several minutes are spent discussing how kissing would help that problem. Later, Reggie pulls E.G. aside to ask her how the date is going. She likes him. She says he is handsome, dapper, and strong, but that he can also be the biggest goofball around. You can tell she means goofball in only the most complimentary manner. After the early dinner, E.G. asks Tim if he would mind making a quick stop to see her daughters at school open house. Tim is up for that. We briefly meet the daughters, who look like mom. Back in the car, these two are going at it again. I wish I could describe it all, but suffice to say that they get along like they have known each other for years. There is no question this was a successful date. Further evidence of that is when Reggie takes them to her house first, where she invites him in. Now, don’t go thinking anything happened… yet… No, E.G. wanted to give him her number and a very goodnight kiss. They part slowly, and so ends the date. When asked about Tim, she says that she would definitely go out with him again, and hopes that he will call her. Meanwhile Tim describes the night’s events in one word, “wow”. Next Week Star Dates moves to Thursday nights, and Richard Hatch, of Battlestar Galactica fame is your Star Date. Until next week! Comments are welcome. Email: bill@fansofrealitytv.com

| Great recap, once again, Bill! I checked out those pics, and E.G. sure has had some work done within the last 10 years! But she looks good, and I finally know who she is! I can't believe that Star Dates has made ANOTHER match. That's a perfect record now, isn't it? | |

| Well, except for Coleman, they have been perfect, and really, his attitude was going to prevent any match from happening. These people are uncanny.

| That's right, Coleman. Who'dathunk taking someone to play with miniature trains, and then ignoring them, would be such a turn-off? ![]() What exactly is "surf skating", btw? | |

| Well, they roller bladed in a parking lot holding these things that looked like windsurfer sails. It seemed to be fun.

| Another funny recap, Bill. What a professional Quote:
What exactly is the astrological sign for "crazy psycho" again? When I saw this, I thought of an old joke: Quote:
![]() I went to the link and saw pictures, and I still have no clue who she is, but if she did the Babe pig voice again I'd "recognize" her. That'll do, EG, that'll do. ![]()

| I think you are right Min, it was Deborah Forman, and I think EG was her best friend.
