I just don't understand why they insist on everyone wearing winter coats & sit around a fire since we know this was filmed in the summer. The heat had to be unbearable!

Not surprised by who left last night. They were mostly mediocre in this competition. So far no one is really constantly blowing the judges away.

I like it when the standings just shake up, it makes it interesting in that you don't know who's going to win that week. And those pear tarts for the technical were so cool, with Mary's sample tart for herself and Johnny being one of the most beautiful things I've seen in ages. This show just doesn't fail in making me so hungry.

Finally caught up with this week's episode on DVR. What's the deal with so many contestants having to mysteriously leave overnight? I'm not questioning the legitimacy of them leaving, it's just weird with such a relatively small number to begin with.
BUT, having said that, with fewer contestants, they seem to be able to show more of them actually baking and not just beginning the challenge and then suddenly judging it.

They really are losing some people.

I wonder if the finally will be a Final 2 kind of thing, since next episode is the semi-final and there are only 3 people left, which is what they tend to have on the finals of The Great British Bake-Off. I hope it's as great as Bread and Chocolate weeks were, I could not stop myself from going so hungry for baked goodies while watching.

I liked how the finale turned out. Both women did a great job! I can't imagine making some of those baked goods in such wet weather. Macarons? It seems like they would need a drier environment.

I liked it too. I had a feeling about the winner for the last few weeks, so it wasn't a huge surprise, but both of them were fantastic bakers.

Both are such lovely young women, and both are great bakers.
I do like how Amanda would pitch in and help others to hurry and get their bakes on a plate for the judging, etc. She seems to have such a beautiful heart. Her family is just adorable. And I love her hair!

    She does have gorgeous hair!

I like this show and its Brit counterpart because people do help each other, they are nice to each other, cheer for each other..... as opposed to so many other shows where people act like idiots.
