Thanks! This looks good!
DVR set!!!! Thanks for the reminder
Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.
OMGosh, we watched the first epi which was 90 minutes and this is going to be sooooooo GOOD!!!!
We loved it!!!
We did too! I only wish I could binge watch it!
I just finished this show over the weekend. I thought they did a really good job making the viewer and pretty much all of the characters question whether he did it at one point or another. It also was excellent at pointing out how tragic a false incrimination would be. It tore the family apart, ruined their friendships, finances, and reputation. The fact that a fairly innocent kid can be sent to prison and come out scarred and jaded. That kind of experience could definitely turn a kid into a criminal and that behavior could definitely continue once they are released. The whole system was so cynical. The times the prosecutor went to an expert and said "can this cut be caused by xyz?" and the expert would say "do you want it to be caused by xyz?" Overall it just left me sad.
My biggest complaint is that I don't think the twist with Chandra was necessary. I get that they wanted John to take the case home, but I think her character was savvier than that.
I loved the ending when the cat walks across the hall. He really loved that cat despite his allergies (I love mine too even though he is the most neurotic animal I've ever had).
The kid is scarred for life by this experience just by making one very stupid mistake and being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I was looking for clues for the last episode before it aired (I'm terrible at waiting) and read the recap of the British show The Night Of was based on, and the Chandra story was lifted from that series. I would have thought the writers could have handled that much better. It didn't fit her personality at all, at least what we saw of her, especially when it came to the drug smuggling.
I do have to pat myself on the back, and this was before reading anything about the original series, that I predicted the final main suspect within a minute of his first appearance on the show.
I also loved seeing the cat walking through Stone's apartment as the show's ending, especially in contrast the misery everyone suffered as a result of the murder (except for the despicable stepdad who probably is still dancing on the mom's and daughter's graves with his multi million dollar windfall).
I kept thinking the mounted deer's head was going to play a part in the outcome of the trial. I thought maybe there was a hidden camera inside it or something.
You can always count on a murderer for a fancy prose style. ~Humbert
I was so happy to see that cat at the end!
Interesting that the lawyer bit was pulled from the British version. I didn't realize that this was adapted from a British show. Thanks for the info Kiz!
