    Vinyl on HBO

Vinyl premiered last night on HBO.

    I enjoyed it all.

Shoot, I forgot that started last night. We'll have to watch On Demand, the previews looked pretty good.

It was a 2hr premier and I couldn't even make it to the 1hr mark. Rarely do I turn off a show but this one I did.

Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.

I REALLY wanted to like this show, mainly because I love Ray Romano, loved the 70s, and loved the 70s music. Well, I couldn't even get more than half way into the 1st episode. This is definitely a much darker, grungier 70s than the 70s that I remember --- but then again, I wasn't living in NYC at that time, nor was I in the music biz. But the bottom line for me, was that the show was just not enjoyable. I'll probably try episode 2, just to see if I can get hooked, but it doesn't seem likely. I'm looking forward to it about as much as I would be if it were medicine that I have to take. And that's kind of too bad.

Oh but the second half of the first episode is where things turned a major corner. I was meh for the first hour, then OMG riveted. It's kind of like Boogie Nights meets Goodfellas. Now I'm loving every minute of it.
