    The Shannara Chronicles Season 2 Episode 1 - Druid - Aired Tuesday 10:00 PM Oct 11, 2017

So what happened after the big bad is defeated and Emberle sacrificed herself to become one with the Ellcrys (the magical tree that guards the portal through which the demons attempt to enter the world)?

Allanon is off doing Druid stuff.

Wil is still grieving over Amberle, and training as a healer.

Eretria is off in the wastelands with a new lover, Lyria and staying with an old friend of her mother.

Bandon had grown his hair, is acting EVIL and is a minion of the Warlock Lord and making Mord Wraiths.

The Crimson is a cult/movement that is led by elf general Riga who feels all the problems in the world are due to magic and is killing all magic users. In other words a fool, but a dangerous fool.

Eretria feels abandoned that Wil never came looking for her and she does not know what happened to Emberle. Lyria tells her that Wil did come to see her but was told she was not there.
Eretria upset leaves with Lyria to go find Wil and gets captured by Rovers.

Bandon sends out the Mord Wraiths to find Wil. Meanwhile Allanon's daughter finds Wil. She wants his help to find her father. The wraiths attack and she saves Wil's life.

Overall not a bad start. There is more energy and intent from the episode. Manu Bennett brings total conviction to his role as Allanon, I just wish everyone else would rise to his level. If that ever happened this would be an excellent series.

    Re: The Shannara Chronicles (MTV)

    FYI:

'The Shannara Chronicles' Season 2 Release Date, Plot and Wiki

It was a smart move by MTV to renew “The Shannara Chronicles” for Season 2. The series got mixed to negative reviews from critics but the audience loved it. Due to positive response from audience the producers decided to renew fantasy drama series “The Shannara Chronicles” for second season.

    “The Shannara Chronicles” Series Overview:

“The Shannara Chronicles” is based on the Shannara novels written by Terry Brooks. The first book in the series – The sword of Shannara was published in 1977. It was followed by two sequels by 1985.The Shannara trilogy focuses on the war of four lands between the evil demons of ‘The Forbidding’ and the armies of the living.

Season 1 of “The Shannara Chronicles” aired on January 5, 2016 on MTV. It followed a mixed pattern while adapting The Shannara trilogy. Instead of adapting just the first novel of the trilogy, Season 1 adapted elements from the whole trilogy

    The Shannara Chronicles Season 2

According to the TV series, evil demons are locked in a land known as The Forbidding. The Forbidding is in another dimension and it is locked by a tree named Ellcrys. Ellcrys is decaying and dying thus thinning the distance between the two dimensions. Demons from the other dimensions are returning to the land of living. Fearing from this the trio of Wil Ohmsford,Amberle Elessedil and Eretria join forces to protect the tree and defeat the demons.

Will Ohmsford is a half human half elf, Amberle Elessedil is princess of elves and Eretria is a human who was raised by thieves.

“The Shannara Chronicles” Season 1 included 10 episodes. The main criticism that “The Shannara Chronicles” series faced was its audience target. Avid readers of the Shannara novels felt that the series is deviating from its root source and is basically trying to please young adult audience. Critics panned the show for this but still the audience loved it. After all the show was produced by MTV so what else can you expect?

“The Shannara Chronicles” Season 2 was confirmed by MTV on twitter on 21st April 2016. Although the release date of the Second season was not announced but we expect “The Shannara Chronicles” to return on TV by February 2017.

“The Shannara Chronicles” Season 2 plot

Currently there is no official plot details about Second season of “The Shannara Chronicles”. However, Jon Favreau who is one of the executive producers of the show admitted that Episode 1 of “The Shannara Chronicles” Season 2 will decide the fate of Eretria. Eretria was captured by the trolls by the end of Season 1.

The episode list and details about the release date of “The Shannara Chronicles” Season 2 will soon be made official by MTV. We will update this page as soon as we get the episode and plot details of Second season.

    Re: The Shannara Chronicles (MTV)

    FYI:

Shannara Chronicles Season 2: Trailer, Release Date, Cast | Den of Geek

    Shannara Chronicles Season 2 Synopsis

MTV also released an official synopsis for the new season of The Shannara Chronicles...

A year after the events of last season, The Four Lands is in chaos. The re-emergence of magic has the populace terrified, and an organization called The Crimson is hunting down magic users, using fear and intimidation to sow discord among the races.

Wil, scarred by the loss of Amberle and his separation from Eretria, has turned his back on his magical destiny to become a healer. But when a mysterious woman named Mareth saves Wil from a Crimson attack, he is forced to rejoin the fight.

After reuniting with Eretria, Wil and Mareth seek out Allanon, only to learn that the Druid’s former protégé, Bandon, is on a mission to resurrect a creature of darkest evil: The Warlock Lord. Together, our heroes must band together to take down The Crimson and prevent Bandon from unleashing an even greater threat upon the Four Lands, before it’s too late.

Here are all of the new characters to look forward to...

According to MTV News, Malese Jow (The Flash, The Vampire Diaries) has joined the Shannara Chronicles Season 2 cast as Mareth, a "volatile and unpredictable" young woman with magical powers who will help Wil find his way back to his friends and escape The Crimson. "Sharp, brash, and independent to a fault," Mareth knows how to get what she wants.

Also joining the cast is Vanessa Morgan (Finding Carter) as Lyria, a young woman romatically linked to Eretria. Nice to see Eretria getting some love, especially amongst all of the danger and mayhem it sounds like we're in for in Season 2.

Speaking to Hypable about the same sex relationship between Erertia and Lyria, Baquero said:

What I love about the show is that [sexuality] is so natural. It's not even a thing. It's normalized and it's great. I think if anything there would be more of an issue if she were to go out with an Elf, because of the elitism and the difference in class ...

It's not something that is frowned upon by anyone. It's what it is. It's been normalized. I think that's great and I hope it reflects the future in a way. Crossed fingers.

Gentry White (UnReal) will play Garet, the "wise-cracking Weapons Master of the Four Lands." Garet is a bounty hunter, "skilled, sly, and charismatic," it sounds like Garet could add some comedic elements to Season 2.

Caaroline Chikezie (Everly) will play Queen Tamlin, "the powerful and cunning ruler of Leah," and the only human kingdom in The Four Lands. Queen Tamlin is a ruthless weapons manufacturer who uses her royal clout to make a political alliance with the elves. Ambitious lady.

Desmond Chiam (Bones) has been added to the Shannara Chronicles cast as General Riga, the leader of the extremist soldier group The Crimson. On a mission to wipe out all magic in the Four Lands, Rigam used to be a top dog in Eventine's army, but has had a major change of heart after watching his people slaughtered in the War of the Races and fighting the Dagda Mor in the War of the Forbidding. This guy does not like magic.

    Season 2 Episode 2 Wraith - 10/19/2017

The Shannara Chronicles - Season 2, Ep. 2 - Wraith - Full Episode | Spike

Wil and Mareth search for answers. While visiting a nearby kingdom, King Ander seeks reinforcement and is given an ultimatum.
Bounty Hunter Jax rescues Lyria from the Rovers and returns her to mom, Queen Tomlin who promises in marriage to Elf King Ander to solidify the alliance between humans and elves in their fight against The Crimson.

Eretria follows Jax and Lyria somehow and makes it to the palace to meet up with Catania (Anders lover), and King Ander. They see General Riga capture Allanon and Eretria goes to find Wil so they can go together find Allanon. Yes, that makes perfect sense.

Catania stays behind to ward Ander but one of his advisors kills her. Yes, Ander you need to watch your advisors.

Wil's Uncle Flick tells him that he needs to embrace being the Shannara instead of denying as that is what really killed Wil's father Shea.

It's all a mismash of folks going all over the place and it's also kinda ironic that General Riga who detests magic so much uses magic brass knuckles to capture Allanon. It's all very much Lord of the Rings junior with a mix of the old Hercules and Xenia the Warrior Princess series.

    Season 2 Episode 3

Graymark (Episode) | Shannara Wiki - Exploring the Magical World of Shannara | FANDOM powered by Wikia

King Ander Elessedil and Queen Tamlin of Leah finalize their alliance. With Wil trapped, Eretria and Mareth must work together to free him before time runs out.
Eretia tells Wil to hide the Elfstones where no one will search, in his drawers.

Seriously, King Ander will find out Catania is dead sooner or later.

Manu Bennett as Allanon still gives the best performance of the cast but Malese Jow as Mareth Ravenlock, Allanon's alleged daughter does a very good job also.

If you are a fan of the old Hercules and Xena the Warrior Princess this show fits right in that type of style and genre.

Manu Bennett could be my son's twin brother. They are about the same age, but Duke (my son) although built similarly is a bit shorter. They are of similar racial extraction (both Polynesian mix). I even cringe whenever Allanon gets tortured they look so much alike. When he was on Spartacus, my friend called me and told me that Duke's look alike was on the show, so I watched it (although I cringed a bit during his nude love scenes). Even my daughter-in-law thinks the resemblance is remarkable. Duke even got teased by his colleagues at work.

To get back to this season, I am a bit disappointed, although I'm only on the second episode. I'm kind of confused, so I really appreciated your synopsis of the episodes, Bearcata. I'll keep a watching and hope it gets better.

    Season 2 Episode 4 Dweller - 11/1/2017

The Shannara Chronicles - Season 2, Ep. 4 - Dweller - Full Episode | Spike

Wil, Mareth & Allanon travel to a dangerous territory for an answer. King Ander meets the Princess of Leah, but finds she’s more than he bargained for.
King Ander finally finds out his bestie betrayed him and killed Catania.

Tipping folks over the falls is an interesting way to be executed.

Queen Tamlin has a deal with the Crimson and the Warlock Lord, a conflict of interest of massive proportions here.

General Riga kills one of his own men gives the elves a bad name and is a waste of resources.

Bandon goes bad to his farm and kills the family living there to teach Wil's Uncle Flick a lesson. Still it is hilarious to see elves embrace that all magic is bad as most of us have grown up with fairy tales and elves are magic are synonymous with each other.

Wil, Mareth, Allanon ... bonding ... not comfortable to be around.

It's confusing cause it's like 6 months to a year after the events in season 1 and Wil looks totally different with the new haircut and is training to be a healer. Eretria again is in a totally new home and with new people around her and there is a new bad and new characters and you wonder what happened it's like not listening to the news for a month and when you start listening again it's like the world totally changed and yet didn't.
