    Downton Abbey (ITV/PBS)

This forum is a great place to temporarily escape the realities and stresses we are experiencing. Because I don't want to always talk to friends and neighbors about our situation, as they need a break from it, as well. Even though they are very supportive. It's amazing how reading your posts acts as a much needed temporary salve. Thanks to each of you. And while my husband is in the hospital he is more concerned with missing Downton Abbey than he is with his post surgery prognosis lol It's the kind of humor that helps us cope.
I love your posts, they are always so well written. I hope your hubby's surgery goes well. I also hope you will keep posting

I wish we had separate threads for the shows on Masterpiece.

Now we are going to have Fort Fans posting about Sherlock and DA on the same thread.

    Yeah Mrs. Hughes.

    Anna and Bates.

Mary is never with baby George.

That was a nice gift to Carson from Mrs. Hughes.

Does anyone think something may happen with Mary and Tom?

For Anna's sake I am glad Lord Gillingham will not be coming by DA.

Edith and her bf are getting closer and closer.

I like Rose. She has spunk. I hope we see more of her as the season goes on.

    Nope. Never.

I just was thinking as they were headed to London at the end of the epi!

They are both dealing with the death of their spouses. Both have babies.

Tom was miserable after what happened with Ivy and Mary sending Lord Gillingham on his way.

But I do understand it most likely would never happen!

Let me get this straight. When the new man proposed to Mary he explained to her that he could break off his relationship with his present "ALMOST" fiance as long as he got immediately engaged to Mary, but he couldn't just break if off with the "almost" fiance to do nothing and not have any prospect. Is that right? Sounds odd to me. It seems that breaking it off with the other lady would be MORE insulting if he ran into the arms of another woman rather than did nothing for awhile. Hmmmm....

I did a sigh of relief though. The guy dodged a bullet. I don't care for Mary. I think he could do much better.

I'm an Edith fan myself and agree with Edith's aunt. She is playing with fire. She doesn't seem to understand that he can't marry her no matter how much he wants. Have they ever actually shown the man's wife? Is she in a hospital?

    Good-bye and good riddance, Edna.

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

I actually liked Barrow last night when he was smiling at Edna and telling her what he thought of her. For just that one scene. Now it's back to wanting to take a shower after he's been on the screen, because he's so slimy.

We all knew Edna would get her comeuppance eventually. I was glad it happened sooner rather than later. That Mrs. Hughes was the one to give her the boot made it even sweeter.
