    CSI 10/17 - "A Little Murder"

    CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
    A Little Murder
    60 min.
Grissom suspects murder, not suicide, when the body of a dwarf is found hanging from a rope high above a stage in a casino hotel where a convention of little people is being held. Across town, Catherine is attacked at a crime scene where a man was murdered during what appears to have been a home robbery. Melanie: Meredith Eaton. Lawrence: Michael Gilden. Jessica: Kaarina Aufranc. Max: Danny Woodburn. Marcus: Phil Fondacaro. Johnson: Archie Kao.

This was a pretty interesting episode. More little people than I've ever seen on one show. I wonder if there really WAS a convention in Las Vegas, and they used it to tie into the storyline.

But again, they ended with the strange "scene out of nowhere" with Grissom in the Deaf institute or whatever.

Yeah, the ending was strange, but I guess it shows that he's coming to terms with his potential deafness. Just a guess

I have to wonder if they (CSI writers/producers etc) are trying to hard to be the great show they already are.
    Did that make sense?
These last two episodes were good, but I got a little weird feeling that they are pushing it....trying to keep the large audience they have found by upping the grossness factor. First: the cannibalism storyline. Then, this week they show the whole "Punch in the neck to disable him" thing too many times. I hope they don’t go to far….

I agree, Cali. I know exactly what you're saying. They just need to keep doing what they've done so well...

Me too. I was actually watching it on Friday night (taped) while I was eating and about lost it!

And the ending did come out of nowhere it seemed. I kept trying to figure out if there was some prior show that I missed that included that as a major part of the storyline. I do remember there was one episode where there was a murder at a deaf school.....

There was, his hearing would drop out occasionally so he went to see a doctor. He was told that he has some sort of a genetic condition that his mother has, I can't remember what it was though.

Just watched the show last night. As usual, a very good episode.

I think they've been upping the gross factor since the very first show of the new season. Remember when they peeled the guy's face off and carved into his skull? I'm not squeamish, but was that completely necessary? And my wife thinks the gimicky "zoom-in"s are being overused this year, which I tend to agree with.

One question. How did Grissom so quickly deduce it was a "little murder"?

I loved his answer about how he knows so much about little people. "I get the newsletter." That's STILL not an answer, Mr. Oblivious!
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

This one wasn't nearly up to standard. 7/10 for a show that usually gets 9/10 in my books. The first season was the best.
