They did hit the dome with a missle in the book.
I hate when the cops throw me in the back of the squad car ....like they didnít hear me call shotgun.

Yeah, I remember that, but I don't recall them being worried about dying from it or such a giant firestorm. Of course in the book you could still email the outside world, watch CNN at the diner, etc. Maybe even some cell phones still worked? Fuzzy now...

I was hoping it was going to be a mini series and have an end. I doubt I'll keep watching.

If it keeps up like it has been, I'm in. I really like this show. Unfortunately many shows start throwing in too much filler & too many cliches once a show is picked up.

??? Surely they had already filmed the end thinking it would end this season... I invested thinking we would get to the explanation in a couple more weeks.

What? I thought this was a one-shot summer show. I didn't know they were going to drag out the ending for an unknown length of time. I'll stick with it for now because it's good, but if it gets drawn out and tedious I'm dropping it from my watch list.

Since they really weren't following the book that strictly anyway, I guess they can go off in any direction they want.

Personally, I'd vote for more 'back story' on the characters . . . like what kind of relationships are there between those trapped inside and those on the outside.

    Re: Under The Dome

As I recall the book covered about a week....and then it was "over". Now that the dome is able to generate rainfall this could go on a long time. This, the dome cares about us thing...yikes, I'm with Dodie.... about like the kid who catches fireflies "cares" about the fireflies so punches holes in the lid for air. I have no idea how they are going to explain the dome this time, but that was probably the weakest part of the book, so I was really looking forward to finding out what they planned this time. Now I may have to wait a whole year! Well, I guess not...they could find out and then "struggle" against it next summer.
