I'm enjoying this ... but I agree that it's "contrived" and rather labored.

Barbie is my favorite character, Julia's not too bad and the kids are pretty good. Big Jim is good in his role, but a power struggle between him and Barbie disturbs me.

Most of the characters are underdeveloped so leaves you scratching your head ... doesn't it?

Apparently it isn't going to be ongoing at this time. The "finale" for now is coming quite soon. I've heard it's going to be a Summer Show next year too.

I'm curious as to just how it's going to end, leaving the door open for a series continuation. Plus, by next summer, will we even care?
I wish they were able to get it ready for a Replacement Series when the cancellations start. You know there'll be cancellations soon. There always are.

    Re: Under The Dome

I think the Finale is in 2 weeks or 4 weeks?

My understanding is it's a Season Finale nor a series Finale.

It lends itself to leaving some or all of the main characters in place and adding new ones next summer.

    Re: Under The Dome

At the end of last week Echo, they said "only two more episodes remain". They didn't actually say they'd be airing consecutively, but that's what my program guide indicates.

This coming Monday - September 9th - the synopsis says:

    Exigent Circumstances:
Big Jim keeps the residents of Chester's Mill riled up as the hunt for Barbie continues; Norrie and Joe look for a new place to hide the minidome.

For the following Monday - September 16th - it simply says:

    Curtains.

I am about half way through last night's episode. DVR messed up do watching On-Demand.

I just realized ... I don't like watching that poor cow being cut in half at the beginning. Poor thing.

    Re: Under The Dome

My media player kept messing up so I am now watching the episodes at tv guide.com The only real problem is that the website doesn't show the previews for the next show so I have to come here to get my info.

Big Jim sure is fitting into his role as enforcer and even includes murder on his list of traits. I really thought when he was in the radio station that he was going to throw Dodee over the railing. She tried to save herself but big old Jim had other plans.

I am glad that Junior is starting to look at his Dad with a little hesitation.

I don't see how they can run this show another season. If Big Jim keeps killing all the residents, there will be no one left in Chesters' Mill!

They will keep finding new people that have been "hiding in houses" since the dome came down all of a sudden new faces will just appear in crowds like they have been doing all along.
