It is definitely a prime example of a knee-jerk reaction......acting before you really think.

Who, in their right mind, agrees to give somebody money just because that person says you need to pay them???

Agreed! It's crazy that April hasn't asked Savi to check into this supposed mistress' story. And now she has this new guy she's dating, who's seen and heard the mistress in action. If he's not in on it (which I don't think he is) then he should be talking some common sense into her. Then again, since he's not at least asking her to check the woman's story a little more closely, maybe he is in on it.

    Re: Mistresses

Exactly! That's what I said yesterday. April didn't even check whether that DNA report was legit, didn't check whether the woman really was her husband's mistress ....nothing! It makes no sense. That's why I questioned whether I missed some kind of threat or blackmail. Someone just shows up, says her kid was fathered by your husband, has a document delivered establishing paternity which is not authenticated in any way, and April feels obligated to pay the kid's hospital bill and sell part of her business to provide long-term support for the alleged child of her cheating husband? HUH? I don't know who is dumber, April or Karen. They are both foolish and naive to the point of seriously sabotaging their own lives and work. These story lines really irritate me. We all make mistakes in life, but I like to see women who are smarter than this. Savi also is foolish to sabotage her marriage and act like changing jobs will smooth things over. Therefore, the only one who hasn't done anything really stupid so far is Joss, and of the four, she seems the ditziest. Surprise!

The only possible reason I can see behind April's actions is that she doesn't want to risk her "dead husband's" affair from becoming public knowledge and maybe getting put out on the internet. She may be trying to protect her daughter from learning anything about it. But, Savi has offered to help her more than once. On the other hand, if she acted more sensibly about it. we wouldn't have a story.

That's the only reason I can see as well.

Lol, yes, my best friend and I used to b*tch endlessly about all our favourite soaps way back in the day, but we'd be damned if we missed any of the episodes, despite our displeasure over some of the storylines.

And EVERYBODY knows that in "soapworld", the surest way to make sure damning information gets out is to try to hide it!!

Lol, yes, good old, "soapworld" where the dead come back to life. And speaking of which, the preview for next week's show where April apparently "sees" her dead husband has my interest peaked.

EDIT: And did my eyes fool me, or did the preview actually show the FBI guy kissing Karen??

Uh-huh! Back in the good ol' days of Usenet (anyone remember that?), in the alt.tv newsgroups for "Sunset Beach" and "Passions" (anyone remember those?), 99% of the posts were about how stupid these soaps were: the writing, the acting, the inconsistancies, the contrived storylines. Did we miss an episode? Heck no!!!
