The banana man is Joss's boss...he took over the company and replaced her prior boss (the one she was sleeping with -- who tried to buy her a house near their office so they could sleep together more often). Mr. Banana presents a problem for Joss because he hasn't been easily seduced and manipulated through sex and I suppose Joss finds that both intriguing and challenging.
I wish they would just lose the Karen storyline and actress, its the least thought-out, slowest, and certainly most predictable storyline among some pretty obvious plots AND the actress is just awful (and I watched Lost (and I will admit that demeanor worked for that character)). Seriously, I've had my fill of the same expresssion and monotone delivery for the season; if she could just disappear (or go ahead and hop on flight 815) that would be awesome.
I don't even know the pretty gal's name with the daughter so I think thats a pretty strong indicator of how great that story is...
The real fun comes with Harry, Savi, Joss and Joss's new bff. These characters are believable, interesting and good actors so I hope we see even more of the focus shift to their corners of LA.
The pretty gal with the daughter is April, and I think she is very foolish to be paying off her (supposedy dead) husband's mistress, especially since she is having to sell back part of her business to do it. There's a lot they could do with her story line, such as what has been mentioned that perhaps her new boyfriend is in cahoots with the mistress (I hope not), or that her husband is still alive. I was expecting the mistress to dump the kid on her and disappear if she doesn't get the money she wants. I totally agree about Karen. Have not been able to stand her since day one, with that monotone of voice and even facial expression, and the absolutely appallingly bad and stupid judgment she consistently exhibits.
I LOVED April offering her only $100/month!!! Not exactly what she had in mind, I'd say.

I hope April wises up before writing too many of those C-note checks.

I can't remember if the woman threatened April in any way if she doesn't give her money. Did she? Is she just playing on April's sympathies for a little boy who is supposedly her (maybe) dead husband's son? Why would she think April would care about her cheating husband's spawn? April should just tell the hussy to get lost, and I don't know why she hasn't already, except to give that character a story line.
In what world would a widow be liable to pay child support for her dead husband's illegimate spawn? Hello...one of your best friends is a lawyer. Crazy
