I gasped. Didn't see that one coming at all. I agree with the posters upthread about Kevin Spacey's accent. He's so good, but it sounds like a movie accent rather than a real Southern accent. Julia Roberts does the same accent ... and she's from Georgia.

    Re: House of Cards

I just chimed in recently and am on S1 EP6.

Forgive me because I work while I watch and am not following as closely as I could be, but I have a question.

In the first episode - and in the promos - the show is about Kevin Spacey exacting revenge on those who bailed on him with the office position (can't recall what it was). He seems to have succeeded with that by now, so is that no longer a focus of the show?

What is his ultimate motive at this point?

And, is his wife's company a cover up to make money or something? Or is it a legitimate charity that she runs because she "cares"?

Thank in advance for any insight.

I gasped too! And then I rewound just to make sure I actually saw what I thought I saw. That was bananas.

I finished watching season 2 a few hours ago. WOW. There were quite a few jaw-dropping moments this season....(and, seriously, don't click if you haven't seen the season yet. You won't want to know before you actually see the episodes)....

Rachel killing Stamper and then Claire and Frank having a three-way with their Secret Service guy ( x 1,000) had my jaw on the floor.

The whole second half of the last episode, when it's totally obvious that Frank is actually going to get what he wants, I just sat here and grinned. He's so evil, but I do enjoy watching him manipulate people. He and Claire are pretty terrible, but they do have one hell of a partnership. I laughed when he rapped his new ring on the desk.

When does season 3 premiere? I'm definitely going to be re-watching both seasons and hoping we'll see a season 3. I can't wait to see what Frank's going to do now!

Yesterday I was too busy, so today's the day for me. Been looking forward to this, and now even more so from reading your comments. Thanks for the warning, Critical. I resisted the impulse to peek at the spoiler! I want to be Shocked, too! I think I just may watch the last episode from Season 1 first to refresh where it left off almost a year ago.

Punkin, when I first went to get started with S2, there was a 2ish minute recap of S1.

I didn't look at Critical's spoiler either... I'm about halfway thru S2 and just enjoying it so so so much!

Seriously, DON'T read the spoilers. Don't go anywhere near a comments section of any article about the show because I've seen people spoil the show that way. Normally, I'm okay with spoilers, but I'm really glad I knew nothing about what was going to happen.

I binge watched season 2. Started it on Friday night and finished it last night. I just couldn't stop myself. I have no impulse control. Plus, I didn't want to get spoiled accidentally.
