Liz and Dick TV movie - Lifetime Channel

I don't know if anyone saw this Lifetime movie, but I did and I have to say that it was abysmally done and worse - Lindsey Lohan sounded NOTHING like Liz Taylor. She acted a lot more like Lohan with a black wig than anything.

The fellow playing Richard Burton was better and his scenes were better acted. I think the real life one would've been happy with him whereas the real Taylor probably would've been mad. She had class - even if not perfect (especially personal life) - in front of and behind the scenes. Lohan thrashed it to the nth degree.

If there are reruns I wouldn't recommend watching this.

I was able to get through about 20 minutes of this movie. I think it might have been less painful if someone had stabbed me in the eye with an ice pick. lol

The writing was horrible. The acting was worse. It's the worst LIfetime movie I have ever seen. Lyndsay did nothing to work on her role. She didn't capture any of the charm, wit or elegance of Liz Taylor. It's really insulting to her memory, IMO.

I think that Lyndsay has done nothing to develop her skill as an actor and it has dissolved. She should have been honing her craft instead of what she's been doing. Shame on Lifetime. They knew this was a big waste of money, time and energy.

I watched about 10 minutes and had to turn it off. Grant Bowler (?) was not bad as Burton, but Lohan was terrible. She mainly smiled and batted her eyes through what I saw. Her voice wasn't anywhere near Taylor's either.... Burton and Taylor would be rolling in their graves seeing that....

people were bashing the movies weeks ago when the trailers starting coming out - it was clear the movie was horrible.

didn't she have to wear her ankle monitor during the shoot?

She should be lucky she even has a job anymore - she ruined herself with alcohol and drugs and quite honestly is probably not insurable (or if she is the premium must be exponential).

I didn't like the whole separation bit where both were wearing black and giving commentary. It was obvious that in those scenes that the Burton guy knew he was going to die in that last scene, and he obviously wouldn't know his own death in real life.

The wigs used save the final scene (where the face age makeup was bad) were also horrid on Lohan.

There were SO many actors who would've done that movie for Lifetime - including those up and coming ones - for less than Lohan asked for I'm sure and most likely do a stellar job. Lohan looked nothing like Taylor, didn't sound like her, acted like she normally does in other shows, etc.

Look, I feel for those who were children actors and how they tend to rebel as they get older. That said, Lohan shouldn't have been cast in this, she's a bad actress and this was an embarrassment to the late Taylor.

And I thought the filming for "Tree of Life" was weird when I watched it - and even that 15 minute scene of creation inserted in it unnecessarily makes more sense than what we got here.

Liz was loud and bawdy. Lohan had to capture that , and she failed - miserably. I don't know about the ankle monitor.

As I said on another thread, I liked the version they did several years back with Sherilynn Fenn... now she captured Taylor! This was just ghastly!
