And Severide! Not sure what is going on with Casey other than some double vision. Why would he go into that PTSD type pummeling of the criminal? Seems like he has a head injury that needs looking at. No doubt they will just move in together when Dawson will feel she has to report him...
Loved the Shay interaction... and the new EMT deserved it...assuming all lesbians are alike, plus of course the "lifestyle choice" thing, like she can just turn it off. Glad they seem to be going to get along.
Liked Instructor Severide..but he seems to have stepped in it. I would think you'd go through the boss before telling a student they are out, even if you think your recommendation will taken seriously. There's protocol to observe, just for legal reasons.
Adorable with Severide's sister... and him playing the heavy big brother...
Molly's really seems doomed!
Here's my guess....(and yes, just a guess!)
I'm thinking that the lawyer that is looking for Shay is actually and estate lawyer and the guy that committed suicide left her a bunch of money (who knows why). She won't want the money because she has incredible guilt about what happened so she'll want to get rid of it so she buys Molly's back from the bank.
Pretty far-fetched, I know, but it's just my guess.
^ Hmm, interesting theory.
I'm a bit confused about Casey. He's suffering from double vision? I thought it was a memory problem when he could not seem to remember the combination to his locker. Crazy how he freaked out on Mauch. I do not like for one bit how Dawson just so happens to be in Instructor Severides's training class at the academy. Contrived much?
Poor Hermann...all I can say is that man has a doom cloud over his head. He may be lucky in love with wife/family but he is awful with finances. Hope they get to keep Molly's.
Regarding Casey - people that suffer brain injuries can often become very aggressive. I think that's where they are going with this storyline.
Boob Wrinkles - it is not a myth
I wasn't sure that he actually had 'double vision' . . . I thought it was more of a dramatic way to get the point across that he was having trouble remembering his combination. I have those "senior moments" when I'm in the middle of something I've done a thousand times and suddenly, it all seems so unfamiliar. Usually, I'm just either not fully paying attention or the exact opposite . . . I'm over-thinking the task at hand. It would be perfectly normal for him to be up-tight coming back to work given what happened and he was probably pre-occupied. That, however, doesn't explain the violence they showed in this episode and the stuff they hinted at that's coming up. Plus, we saw Dawson brushing his hair away from the scar at the back of his head.
All in all - this ain't over yet. They'll be pulling at our heartstrings where Matt is concerned.
It was fun to see Otis and Katie together. Awwwwww, geek love.
The new paramedic . . . hmmmm: I'm thinking she "doth protest too much". Could she herself be in the closet perhaps?
As for Dawson as a fire fighter, I'm not on-board with that one. She's too good at what she did on the ambulance. I foresee an event during training where she gets to save a life - medically - and realizes that is her true calling.
For "Maybaybie" . . . . I love your theory! The guy who killed himself was rather fond of Shay and it would make sense for him to have provided for her somehow.
For "ECM" . . . . ain't that the truth? Poor Herrmann. There's always something lurking for him in the shadows. I loved the way he took control outside of the jewelry store. He'll pass that lieutenants test this time, I'm sure.
And Peter is no longer a "candidate". Yeah for him!!!

I love the theory that Shay inherits from suicide guy....although it didn't exactly look like a ritzy apt. that he died in. But maybe he had money he wasn't using, or a life insurance policy that isn't voided by suicide. I hope the police don't think she knew about it and goaded him into suicide for the $$! OK, getting ahead of ourselves here....![]()
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' - Isaac Asimov
I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
I wish they'd give the Molly's angst a rest already.
Kate and Otis are cutesy together
Loving Shay more and more - last season I couldn't stand her constant brooding attitude.
Glad Mills got his spot on the squad - funny how he was the one to think of using the torch....
you just know there is going to be way more story to Jones and Lt Severide.

Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see. :nono
I don't know how many people here watched the PD version... but if you do you'll see several people from the fire version---Dawson and Shay responding to the shooting of a police officer (I guess before she started fire school!), Molly's hosting a profit making party, Pouch and Herman dropping by the PD while he is walking the dog... I wonder if that will continue once the show is really in progress. Also you see Dawson's ex still moping about her and not wanting to be fixed up.
