    Re: Elementary

I really enjoyed the last show, suspected something wasn't right about Adam, but never guessed they would be able to prosecute him. This is so different then traditional Sherlock, that I think of it as totally different. The only similarity is that two characters have recognizable names of Sherlock & Watson. I have no idea how it is doing in the ratings, but I am enjoying it!

I am also very happy to know it will have a second season. It has such a different feeling to it then the traditional Holmes mystery series, that I forget it is based on that until someone calls him Sherlock. I very much enjoy this show and the mysteries are creative and capture my interest. The fact that it is very "Ámerican" in character and style is not offensive to me, I enjoy this uniqueness.

We don't know for sure about season two do we, just that its been picked up for a full season one? They did announce they were giving it the prime post-Super Bowl slot, so the network must believe in it.

The way Sherlock talks about his father has me suspicious that Sherlock is the one who actually hired Watson. He seemed to "protest too much" that his father wouldn't show, even going so far as to hire someone to pretend to be his father to prove his point. And the only way Watson and the father communicate is through email. For all we know his father has passed away or maybe they are really estranged. But for whatever reason, he is paying Watson to be his companion, I'm sure of it.

I had the same thought! Although his initial hostility seemed real....would have to back and look at the first episode again... She was supposed to just be there for 6 weeks...have we passed that point yet? What with power issues and all I think I may have missed something.
