John Corbett and the entire cast of Northern Exposure.
"Blessed is the lonesome pioneer." -- Judee Sill (1973, "There's a Rugged Road")
In thinking about Jack Bauer (another of my all time faves), I remembered
MacGyver!
He was so great his name became a verb!DH and I introduced our kids to him via Netflix. So fun to watch all over again!
"We must overcome the notion that we must be regular...it robs you of the chance to be extraordinary and leads you to the mediocre." - Uta Hagen
“I don’t want my pain erased! As wretched as it is, I need my pain… It makes me who I am. It makes me Grumpy.” - Grumpy, Once Upon a Time
There are so many of my favorites on this thread!
I LOVE all of the characters on the tv series The Unit.
My favorite was the head guy Jonas Blane aka "Snake Doctor" played by the wonderful Dennis Haysworth. Here's a trailer of the show that shows all the characters. They worked so well together.

I have so many as well, but a few are:
Donovan "Van" Ray - Fastlane
Radar O’Reilly - MASH
The whole Golden Girls cast - Brilliant casting!
Norm Peterson - Cheers
Judge Harry Stone - Night Court
Harvey Specter - Suits
Malcolm Reynolds - Firefly
Aeryn Sun - Farscape
"Irregardless? That's not even a real word. You're affixing the negative prefix 'ir-' to 'regardless', but, as 'regardless' is already negative, it's a logical absurdity!" ~Steve Smith
"Once I swore I would die for you, But I never meant it like this."
Oh, the Sex and the City ladies. This show helped me laugh my way during a divorce and made me realize I was now single and fabulous! Loved all four of them.
"To err is human, to arr is a pirate"
Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory)
All the girls on Sex and the City
Emily (Revenge)
I can only please one person a day, today is not your day and tomorrow doesn't look good either
The Ropers on Three's Company. When they left and were replaced by Mr. Furley (Don Knotts), I didn't like the show nearly as much.
Colonel Hogan on Hogan's Heroes. Most people focus on Sargeant Schultz as their favorite person on Hogan's Heroes but Hogan was who really made it for me. I had a crush on Bob Crane (before I found out what a messed up individual he was in real life), plus I liked the crafty way Hogan pulled off impossible missions. I got the feeling that if there hadn't been a war on, he could have been great friends with Klink and Schultz. There were lots of great characters on that show, though! I also really enjoyed General Burkhalter and Major Hockstedder. I liked Klink's secretary Helga (Cynthia Lynn) better than Hilda (Sigrid Valis).
One of my favorite tv couples were Jeff and Ginger on Homefront. I was devastated when they broke up on the show and never did like either of them as much with other people.
Oh, yeah...I also have to give a shoutout to Damon Wayans on In Living Color for creating both Homey the Clown and Anton Jackson, two classic characters! He was hilarious on the show and his characters were the highlight of most episodes.

pretty short list I have here
I like a show that when it goes off the air you feel like you have lost some real friends. I love shows that feature families and the following were some of my favorites from HBO.
The Soprano Family, including Tony, Carmillo, Jr., etc. all very memorable.
The Fisher family on Six Feet Under, including Ruth, David, Nate, and Claire were so incredible in their roles.
The Hendickson family in Big Love, Bill, Nicolette, Barb and Margene. Characters that seemed to actually live the part!
