Passport Revoked: FOX Cancels 'Keen Eddie'
    By Brian Ford Sullivan

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has pulled the plug on its struggling summer drama "Keen Eddie." The news comes just one week before the show's previously announced return on August 28.

In its place FOX plans to fill the Thursday, 8:00/7:00c hour with a mix of new and repeat episodes of "Anything for Love" and "Stupid Behavior Caught on Tape." The move won't affect the Thursday launch of "Temptation Island 3" at 9:00/8:00c on August 28.

For its seven airings this summer, "Eddie" averaged a 2.2 rating and 6 share among adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall. The network still has six episodes of the series in the can.

Meanwhile in other FOX news, the network also announced it will air the special "What's in the Fox Box 2003" on Sunday, August 31 at 7:00/6:00c. The half-hour broadcast will give a sneak peek at the new season of the network's kids lineup. "Fox Box" takes the place of the 7:00/6:00c repeat of "Futurama." The 7:30/6:30c "Futurama" repeat will air as previously announced.

Lastly, FOX has revealed it plans to fill its Sunday schedule with theatrical movies for the month of September. "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" will have its world broadcast premiere on September 7 during which viewers can catch a four-minute trailer for the new season of "24." On Sunday, September 14 look for "The Lost World: Jurassic Park 2" with the network's Emmy coverage on September 21. Rounding out the month is "The Vertical Limit" on September 28. FOX's baseball coverage is expected to take over during October, leading up the season premieres of its Sunday series on November 2.

If only we could make executives at FOX pay dearly for cancelling this and Greg the Bunny, Andy Richter, fill in the blanks......

    Chris

What a bunch of Dippowhads!!!!! This is the reason I only watch one show on Fox and thats 24. Keene Eddie was great! and they won't even show the last six shows the rat bastards!!!! I hope they all deflate from constant flatuelence!

'Keen Eddie' coming to Bravo, with new episodes

CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED DRAMA ‘KEEN EDDIE’ IS BACK WITH ALL-NEW EPISODES ONLY ON BRAVO

BURBANK, Calif. -– December 19, 2003 –- Bravo has acquired the rights to the critically-acclaimed drama "Keen Eddie," which debuts on the network on Tuesday, January 20 (9:00 –10:00 p.m. ET). Bravo picked up all 13 episodes – including six that have never been seen.

The series will debut with the pilot episode followed by an all-new original episode to premiere on January 27 (9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET). "Keen Eddie" will join "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" on Bravo's Tuesday night schedule the week following the championship game of the hit series "Celebrity Poker Showdown," which will air January 13 (9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET).

"We're thrilled to be adding 'Keen Eddie' to our primetime lineup," said Dan Harrison, Vice President, Strategic Program Planning, Bravo. "It's smart, it's stylish and it's a perfect fit given the new direction we're taking Bravo."

The hour-long drama, created by J.H. Wyman, follows a down-on-his-luck New York City cop, played by Mark Valley ("Pasadena"), who goes to work for Scotland Yard in London after a botched drug bust back home. The series was shot entirely in London and also stars Sienna Miller ("Bedtime"), Alexei Sayle ("The Young Ones"), Colin Salmon ("Die Another Day") and Julian Rhind-Tutt ("Tomb Raider"). The series premiered on Fox last summer.

"Keen Eddie" is produced by Frequency Films, Inc., The Littlefield Company and Simon West Productions in association with Paramount Network Television. Executive producers are Wyman, Warren Littlefield and Simon West.

Bravo, an NBC Cable Network since December 2002, is currently seen in more than 74 million homes and was the first service dedicated to film and the performing arts when it launched in December 1980. Today, Bravo offers innovative arts and entertainment programming with a unique point of view featuring original series, feature films (both independent and mainstream), theater, dance, music and documentaries. Bravo boasts critically-acclaimed original programming -- including "Inside the Actors Studio" hosted by James Lipton, Emmy Award-winning "Cirque du Soleil Fire Within" and this summer's breakout hit "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."
