I can't see how that isn't the kiss of death for Vegas. If they keep it at 10pm, it will be up against Blue Bloods which I think has the same demographic. I already scrapped Vegas in favor of my returning Body of Proof. And I don't plan to give up Blue Bloods for it either.
Isn't Vegas CBS??? It will prolly take CSI NY's 9 pm spot, right before Blue Bloods.
CSINY is over for the season - although I'm still confused as to why it ended so early. Still hoping it gets renewed, although if it does not, I'm satisfied knowing Christine said 'yes' when Mac finally found the courage to ask her to marry him.
As for the substitution, I guess they need SOMETHING to fill the 9pm spot. I don't watch either Vegas or Golden Boy, so it doesn't matter to me. I also don't watch Blue Bloods. CSI:NY was my go-to Friday night show.
CSI:NY has been threatened with cancellation for about two seasons now. It survived this past round because apparently CSI:Miami had too many cast members wanting big raises, so costs killed themselves (bad pun - sorry).
I would say doing the last story of the season this way ensures that win/lose/draw they have a strong finale. They did this with "Pan Am" and I was glad for that.
As far as a shorter season - well, they started a little late DUE to the network's trouble deciding which one of the two was going to survive I believe.
I was watching Red Widow against last night thinking whatever happened to network TV miniseries? I remember many years for instance watching the Last Don as a mini series on tv. Red Widow would make for a great miniseries but there's only so far they can go with it before it becomes redundant. It unfortunate they don't take more of these shows and do the miniseries thing with them.
