SAVE THE WHALES..THE OCEANS DIE..WE DIE!!!
I thought I'd post this here so as not to clutter up the other thread.
So I'm not sure what last part you saw but Jim C. went to "save" the lawyer lady in the alley only to discover she was in cahoots with the bad cops and wanted them to get rid of the other male attorney. Jim C. was spying and the one detective got the drop on him. They knocked him out and the detective was taking him to some remote location to "get rid of him". Jim C. had a flash bang which he set off in the car causing a wreck which allowed him to escape. Further surveillance on the 3 bad cops let him know when and where they were planning to take out the male attorney. He shows up just as they are waiting to ambush both him and his son in their apartment building elevator. He holds one of the bad cops hostage so the other won't kill the attorney. Then he kills the main bad guy and apparently puts him in the trunk of the detective's new squad car. He sets up the female attorney so that a recording of her ordering the hit on the male attorney is played in court.

I expected to like this show and I did. Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel are both outstanding actors. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of Taranji P, Hudson, too. This is my favorite new show of the season so far.
Did anyone catch Michael's throwaway line at the end of the episode where is says to Jim's character, "You're not the only one who's lost, John,"???![]()

the director must have told Michael Emerson to act as if he has a stiff neck
anyways... it was an alright pilot (pilots are tough, episode 2 is usually better), not gripping or anything but completely watchable, i'll watch the next 3 eps to see if its worthy
the storyline was meh, don't know if this show is straight one-off episodes or if there is an ongoing story building

This is my favorite new show of what I've seen so far. There were several shows that I enjoyed, they held my interest for the hour and I'll watch again. But this is the only one where I'm actually excited to see the next episode! The premise is good and definitely different - it certainly leaves rooms for all kinds of varied stories. I thought it was nice twist that the "victim" was anything but, and the secondary characters were interesting as well. Reese was really intriguing with his dark back-story and James Bond-like ability to get himself out of sticky situations. I liked that he has no problem pulling the trigger - obviously he has no trouble killing the bad guys. He's definitely flawed and a nice change from the typical network TV "hero." The other thing I really liked...and this may go towards what you were talking about Dogg....it looks like there will be single story that begins and ends in episode (yay!!) but it seems too, there will be a continuing thread and ongoing story. What really happened to Jessica and who did it? Will Taraji's police detective find out about Reese? What is Mr. Finch's full story? I'm looking forward to finding out more next Thursday![]()

I really enjoyed this series. It's like Minority Report w/a twist.
Definitely on my must see list. I'm even willing to overlook how ridiculous the premise is.

I'm fascinated to see Mr. Finch's back story. He does walk with a slight limp, doesn't he? If I'm seeing that correctly, I imagine it will play a significant part in what happened to him. Also looking forward to seeing more of Taraji's character, and I apologize for the misspelling of her name in an earlier post. Even with minimum screen time, she's created a character I want to see more of.

This was hands down my favorite of the new series coming in this season. It felt well acted, and even with the foreshadowing on the DA, there wasn't one moment that didn't have me waiting to see what will happen next. And yes, Katydyd, I agree with you "it looks like there will be single story that begins and ends in episode (yay!!) but it seems too, there will be a continuing thread and ongoing story." I'm afraid NCIS very nearly lost me over the "port to port killer" and may yet lose me with the big over-arc on the spy thing. I don't want to have to remember every single nuance from the last five episodes so I can enjoy the one I'm watching! (but that's just me being a grumpy Jazzie LOL!)

I LOVE Michael Emerson--what an incredible actor. I recall at one of the lost wrap-up interviews Emerson and the guy that played John Locke said they might be working together on a show...anyone know anything about that? I can't imagine Terry being cast in Jim C's role.
I, too, deeply appreciate a hero character that doesn't go to great lengths to avoid harming the bad guys (and end up creating more problems and danger for everyone) and I'm really feeling the mystery surrounding Mr. Finch. I could do without the zillion clips of the cameras every few seconds (we get it!--everyone is being recorded and there's an arbitrary square box that floats around you head!) and the detective that won't leave well enough alone is a bit recycled but otherwise Im very happy!
