MTV preparing to 'Bash' celebs
From the AP
NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - MTV will introduce an annual programming franchise styled similar to Comedy Central's "Friars Club Roasts."
"MTV Bash" will skewer a guest of honor with a mix of stand-up comedy, short films and performances delivered by a wide range of artists, celebrities and comedians. The first installment, (dis)honoring MTV's own Carson Daly, will be taped June 28 at the Hollywood Palladium and air in July. Talent will be announced in the coming weeks.
If "Bash" works for MTV, it will take a regular position alongside other annual franchises, including the MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Movie Awards telecasts and "MTV Icon."
